(Loud cheering from the kids; the door opens, and Chuck E. and friends make their grand entrance.)

- Munch: You have any snacks I can eat?
(They gather on the rug next to Mrs. Miller as the cheering dies down.)

- Mrs. Miller: No problem, Helen. Now would everyone please stand up and say hello to our guests?
(The children stand up and yell their hellos; only Matt strays away.)
- Mrs. Miller: Huh? Matt? Matt!
- Matt: Hmm?
- Mrs. Miller: Matt, you're not saying hello to Chuck E. and his friends. What's the matter?
- Matt: I don't wanna say hello.
- Chuck E.: But Matt, I thought you liked saying hello to me.

- Mrs. Miller: Okay, class. Now it's time for our spelling lesson. We're gonna learn to write our names using the letters of the alphabet. Chuck E.? Will you demonstrate by writing your name on the board?
- Chuck E.: Sure, Mrs. Miller.
(He goes over to the blackboard and begins using chalk to write his name.)
- Chuck E.: C...H...U...C...K... (mumbles to himself) Double S...and...E. Done!
(He wrote his full name "CHUCK E. CHEESE" across the blackboard.)
- Mrs. Miller: Very good, Chuck E.! See, kids? That's how we write our names. Any questions? (David raises his hand.) David.
- David: I thought you spelled your name as C-H-U-C-K-Y, or C-H-U-C-K-I-E.
- Chuck E.: (laughs) No, no, David! The "E" stands for my middle name. I write it like this to make it sound cooler. (Pia raises her hand.) Pia?
- Pia: What's your middle name, Chuck E.?
- Chuck E.: Why, it's "Entertainment", of course! Charles Entertainment Cheese, my full name!
(The children laugh.)
- Mrs. Miller: And speaking of names and the alphabet...
(She pulls down a sheet revealing the alphabet.)
- Mrs. Miller: It's time we review our alphabet before we get to writing. There are 26 letters in our alphabet in all.
- Pasqually: Ooh! What do you say we sing the alphabet song, Mrs. Miller?
- Mrs. Miller: Good idea, Pasqually! It's a fun song to sing when learning the alphabet.
(She sits down at the piano; music to "The Alphabet Song" starts, the kids stand up.)

(Katie is having trouble with her writing.)
- Jasper: You all right, Katie?
- Katie: I'm not good at writing my name. Can you help me?
- Jasper: Sure.
(He holds her hand and helps her write.)
- Katie: K-A-T-I-E. Katie. That's better! Thank you, Jasper!
- Jasper: You're welcome.
(A handbell is heard ringing; Mrs. Miller is ringing it.)
- Mrs. Miller: Time up, everyone! Did everyone write their names?
(They all hold up their sheets, each bearing that kid's name.)
- Kids: Yes!
- Mrs. Miller: Very good! You've just earned yourself some playtime!
(They all cheer happily; changes to later on the kids are playing. On the rug, Charlie and Spencer are playing with a shape puzzle and matching blocks.)
- Charlie: Hey, Chuck E.! Come look at this! Spencer and I are playing with shapes!
(Chuck E. runs right up to them.)
- Chuck E.: Did you say, "shapes"?
- Spencer: Yes! See these shapes here? (fits each respective shape in their holes) Square...circle...triangle. And this one's a rectangle...a diamond...an oval...
- Charlie: How about that last one?
- Spencer: This shape has eight sides. It's called an octagon.
- Chuck E.: Hey! Mrs. Miller! Spencer and Charlie are learning their shapes!
- Mrs. Miller: So they are, huh? Well, shapes are a really fun thing to learn. Okay, kids! Gather round! It's time for our shape lesson!
(All the kids and Chuck E.'s friends gather on the rug.)
- Tiffany: Shapes? I love shapes! What shapes are there, Mrs. Miller?
- Mrs. Miller: Well, Tiffany, I'm gonna show you each of these different blocks and tell you what they are. Chuck E., will you help me?
- Chuck E.: Sure, Mrs. Miller.
(He hands her each respective block as mentioned.)
- Mrs. Miller: This is a circle. It is completely round, no sides or edges. This is a triangle. It has three sides. This is a square. It has four sides, all of equal sides. This is a rectangle. It's like a square but stretched out a bit. This is a diamond. It's like a square that's sitting on its side. This is an oval. It's like a circle that's widened or flat. And this last shape is an octagon. An octagon has one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight sides.
- Jasper: A stop sign is an octagon!
- Mrs. Miller: You're right, Jasper! Now what do you say we sing our shape song so we remember?

(Helen comes upon Megan; she is painting a rainbow over a lake.)

(Changes to much later; the kids and Chuck E. and the gang are all playing. On the rug, Chuck E. and Sam are building towers with blocks.)

- Chuck E.: Sure is big, huh?

(Chuck E. laughs; Mrs. Miller rings her bell again.)

(The kids cheer and all gather up at the rug with Chuck E. and friends standing.)
- Mrs. Miller: Okay, now we're gonna loosen up and move our bodies! Chuck E., since you and your friends are the special guests for today, how would you like to lead the dancing?

(Everyone voices surprised comments.)

- Tiffany.: It's really sad to say goodbye, but there is good news, too.
- Toby: That we get to come back tomorrow and learn more!

(Mrs. Miller walks to the piano one last time.)
- Mrs. Miller: Okay kids, it's time for us to sing our goodbye song. Chuck E., will you lead the round?

(She gives him a hug.)
