(The opening starts with Chuck E.'s snow-covered neighborhood before focusing on his Christmas-decorated house. Snaps to the star on the tree inside before panning down to show the ornaments. Chuck E.'s hand comes into view to put one on one of the empty branches; pulls back to show him decorating it in his living room. His dog Pepperoni watches from the couch.)
- Chuck E.: And...there. The last one. How does it look, Pepperoni?
(Pepperoni barks in approval; Chuck E. notices the viewer.)
- Chuck E.: Oh, hey there! We're celebrating a very special holiday! Can you guess what it is? Yeah, Christmas! That's right! See? There are stockings hung from the fireplace... a wreath on my door... and look at my Christmas tree! It's got ornaments, and lights, and icicles, and candy canes, and a pretty star for the top! And look out the window; it's snowing!
(Pepperoni barks excitedly.)
- Chuck E.: Today is Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas. And we're having a big party at Chuck E. Cheese's! There'll be kids singing Christmas carols, Pasqually's gonna serve some hot chocolate, and at the end, we're gonna light the big tree outside! What do you like to do on Christmas? Oh, I like to do that, too!
(Pepperoni barks back.)
- Chuck E.: I just love Christmas, don't you? It's the most wonderful time of the year!
(He giggles and dances around the living room; music to "Deck the Halls" starts.)
Chuck E.: Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la la la la la la la la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la la la la la la la la
Don we now a gay apparel
Fa la la la la la la la la
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol
Fa la la la la la la la la
(The doorbell rings.)
- Chuck E.: Who could that be?!
(He opens the front door; his friends are here.)
- Chuck E.: Hey, everyone!
- Jasper: Merry Christmas, Chuck E.!
- Munch: And a happy new year, too!
(All voice happy comments as his friends enter the house one at a time. Helen is carrying a bakery box.)
Jasper: See the blazing Yule before us
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Munch: Strike the harp and join the chorus
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Helen: Follow me in merry measure
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Pasqually: While I tell of Yuletide treasure
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
- Chuck E.: You've made it just in time! I just finished decorating the tree!
- Helen: Oh, it looks beautiful, Chuck E.!
- Jasper: Yeah, it's even better than the one in my living room!
- Pasqually: Oh, it just reminds me of Italy! (giggles)
- Munch: Now what do you say we all sing around it?
- Chuck E.: Okay! Now everybody sing with us! Here we go!
(They all gather around the tree and hold hands.)
Munch: Fast away the old year passes
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Jasper: Hail the new ye lads and lasses
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Chuck E.: Sing we joyous, all together
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Helen: Heedless of the wind and weather
All: Fa la la la la la la la la
Fa la la la la la la la la
(Song ends and they cheer; Helen shows Chuck E. the box she was carrying.)
- Helen: Merry Christmas, Chuck E. I made these for you.
(He opens the box to reveal a myriad of sugar cookies in various Christmas shapes.)
- Chuck E.: Oh, these are yummy! Thanks, Helen!
(He eats one of them.)
- Helen: You're welcome. I ordered them last week. They were one day overdue, but managed to stay fresh.
- Jasper: Did Santa magic them?
- Chuck E.: Well, I don't know. It's a mystery.
- Munch: Are we gonna open presents, Chuck E.?
- Chuck E.: Well, since it's Christmas Eve, we can open one present. Here, I've wrapped your presents already.
- (Sitting under the tree are four presents -- one for each individual friend. He gets them and hands them off one by one.)
- Chuck E.: This one's Helen's... here's Pasqually's... Munch, this is yours... and this last one is for Jasper.
(One by one they open their gifts.)
- Jasper: Oh, my! Shiny black boots by Stella McHoundney! I've been looking for these forever!
- Helen: A microphone, with rhinestones! It's beautiful!
- Pasqually: Oh, my! Shiny whisks! Made from platinum! These must've been expensive!
- Munch: Wow! It's the limited-edition unabridged print of How to Munch Properly! I thought I'd never find this!
- Helen: Thank you for the presents, Chuck E.! It was so nice of you to find them!
- Chuck E.: Aw, you're welcome. Besides, Christmas is all about giving!
- Jasper: I hope Santa gets me that new snowboard I've been asking for!
- Munch: Will Santa come, Chuck E.?
- Chuck E.: Oh, he will! Just be sure to be prepared, 'cause he's comin' tonight!
(Music to "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" starts.)
Chuck E.: You better watch out, you better not cry
You better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is comin' to town
He's making a list and checking it twice
He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice
Santa Claus is comin' to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows that you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry
You better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is comin' to town
- Jasper: Well, we've all finished our lists, and delivered our letters to Santa!
- Pasqually: So all we have to do is go to sleep tonight and he'll deliver?
- Chuck E.: That's right!
- Helen: I can't wait for Santa!
- Munch: Me neither! The suspense is killing me!
Jasper: With little tin horns and little toy drums
Pasqually and Munch: Rootie-toot-toots and rump-a-tum-tums
All: Santa Claus is comin' to town
Helen: And curly haired dolls that cuddle and coo
Elephants, boats, and kiddie cars too
All: Santa Claus is comin' to town
Chuck E.: The kids in girl and boy land
Will have a jubilee
They're gonna build a Toyland town
All around the Christmas tree
All: So, you better watch out (better watch out), you better not cry (better not cry)
You better not pout, I'm telling you why (Why?!!)
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Chuck E.: Oh, yeah!
All: Santa Claus is comin' to town
Chuck E.: One more time!
All: Santa Claus is comin'...
Munch: Comin'...
Jasper: Comin'...
Helen: Comin'...
All: To town!!!
Jasper: Man, I hope he comes here, soon!
(Song ends.)
Chuck E.: Well, guys, what do you say we head out to my place and check out the party?
(They all voice cheers of excitement.)
- Chuck E.: Do you wanna come to the party with us? Great! Let's go!
(Changes to outside some time later; Chuck E. and friends come out dressed in winter gear. They run down the path and down the sidewalk. Not long later, they come to Charlie Rockit's house; Several snowmen are in the front yard.)
- Chuck E.: Hey, look! There's Charlie Rockit's house!
- Munch: He's going to the party, too!
- Pasqually: Yeah, and so are his classmates!
- Jasper: I wonder what they're doin'. Let's go check it out.
(They go over; in the front lawn. Charlie is working on another big snowman; Megan, Tiffany, Brandon, Katie, and William are helping. Chuck E. and the others approach.)
- Chuck E.: Hi, Charlie! Hey, kids!
- Charlie: Hi, Chuck E.!
- Kids: Hi!
- Helen: My, what cool snowmen you have there!
- Charlie: Thanks! I made a snow Charlie, and those are my snow dad and snow mom. We're making another snowman before we head to the party.
- Munch: What kind of snowman are you making?
- Katie: Frosty!
- Chuck E.: Oh, Frosty the Snowman! That's cool!
- Jasper: Do you think he'll come to life?
- Brandon: He might.
- William: If he does, we'll be surprised!
- Helen: I would love to see that!
- Chuck E.: Charlie, can we help you build Frosty?
- Charlie: Sure, Chuck E.! The more, the merrier!
- Pasqually: Great! Let's get to snowman building!
- Chuck E.: And we can sing Frosty's song, too!
- Tiffany: Yeah, Frosty loves his song! Let's sing it for him!
- Chuck E.: Come on, sing it with us as we build!
(Music to "Frosty the Snowman" starts as they help finish building Frosty.)
Chuck E.: Frosty the snowman
Was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
Chuck E. and the kids: Frosty the snowman
Is a fairy tale, they say,
Helen: He was made of snow, but the children know
How he came to life one day
Chuck E.: There must have been some magic
In that old silk hat they found
All: For when they placed it on his head,
He began to dance around!
(Chuck E. places the top hat on Frosty's head; he magically comes to life!)
- All: WHOA!!!
Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me
- Charlie: I can't believe it! He's alive!
- Frosty: Hey, kids! I'm Frosty the Snowman! Wanna go "Thumpety thump thump" with me on the way to Chuck E. Cheese's?
- All: YEAH!!!!!
- Chuck E.: Stand up and go "Thumpety thump thump" with us! Let's go!
- Frosty: Come on, everybody! Follow me!
(He leads them in a parade down the streets.)
All: Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go
Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow
(Various citizens pass by and wave to them.)
Kids: Frosty the snowman
Knew the sun was hot that day,
Jasper: So he said, "Let's run and we'll have some fun
Now before I melt away."
Kids: Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Chuck E.: Running here and there, all around the square
Saying, "Catch me if you can."
All: He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
Chuck E.: And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler...
- Traffic cop: STOP!
(They instantly halt! And the music stops! There is traffic up ahead; they wait until the street is clear and their light turns green.)
- Traffic cop: You may go on.
(The music resumes.)
- Frosty: This way to Chuck E. Cheese's!
(They all giggle and keep following their snowman friend; it isn't long until Chuck E. Cheese's is dead ahead.)
All: Frosty the snowman
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying, "Don't you cry,
I'll be back again someday."
(They march right up to the restaurant.)
All: Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go
Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow!
Munch: Over the hills of snow
(Song ends and they all cheer.)
- Frosty: Here we are, Chuck E. Cheese's!
- Katie: Man, that was fun!
- Brandon: I loved going "Thumpety thump thump" with Frosty!
- Tiffany: Yeah, we should do this again, sometime!
- Frosty: Have fun at your party, kids! I'll see you later!
- Kids: Bye, Frosty!
(Frosty leaves.)
- Chuck E.: Come on, kids! This way!
(They enter. Changes to inside the restaurant, all decked out; kids and families are congregating as usual. Everyone comes in to marvel and voice amazed comments.)
- Helen: Wow, it's so beautiful in here!
- Charlie: Look, there's Mrs. Miller! And she's giving a story time!
(They go over; just near the MMBB stage, Mrs. Miller is seated in an armchair and reading "The Night Before Christmas" to the rest of Charlie's classmates as they listen.)
- Mrs. Miller: "...And I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight: 'Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!'" The end.
- Kids: Yaaaaaaaay!
(Here come Chuck E. and the others.)
- Chuck E.: That was a great story, Mrs. Miller.
- Mrs. Miller: Thanks, Chuck E.! It was Pia's suggestion.
- Pia: Yeah, I love "The Night Before Christmas", and I read it every year!
- David: I really hope Santa comes, tonight!
- Chuck E.: Oh, he will, David. Just have to be patient.
(Suddenly...)
- A voice: Ho, ho, ho!
- All: WHOA!!!
- Matt: I know someone who goes "Ho, ho, ho"!
- Katie: Could it be...
(The door to the back room opens, revealing...)
- All: SANTA CLAUS???
(And here he comes... but not Santa, just Larry dressed in Santa's likeness and doing his best impersonation of him.)
- Larry: Hey, kids! Merry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!
- Chuck E.: Wait a minute... that's not Santa Claus, it's Larry Claus.
- Larry: Hi, there! How'd you think of that, Chuck? Impressive, if I say so, myself.
- Chuck E.: Mmm...we'll work on it.
- Sam: Is the sleigh ride ready, yet?
- Larry: You bet indeed it is, Sam! It's just out front!
- Sophie: Can we go for a ride in it?
- Larry: Why, sure you can! We can all ride right now!
(They all cheer; changes to outside; The whole party is seated in a sleigh hitched up to a horse. Larry mans the reins.)
- Larry: Everybody ready?
- All others: READY!
- Larry: YAH!
(He starts the horse running and the ride commences; music to "Jingle Bells" starts.)
All: Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
Chuck E.: Dashing through the snow,
In a one-horse open sleigh,
O'er the hills we go,
Laughing all the way! HA HA HA!
Helen: Bells on bobtail ring,
Making spirits bright,
Chuck E. and friends: What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight!
All: O Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
(Laughter and cheering from everyone.)
- Charlie: I love sleigh rides!
- Toby: Me, too! I've never ridden in a sleigh before!
- Spencer: I wanna ride all day!
- Jasper: I wanna ride until Santa arrives!
(They all laugh.)
- Larry: We're almost back, everyone! How about one more verse?
- Chuck E.: Come on, sing with us!
All: O Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a ONE-HORSE OPEN SLEIGH!!!!!
(Song ends as they return to the restaurant and cheer. They all get off the sleigh.)
- Megan: (giggles) That was fun! I love riding on a sleigh!
- Abby: We should do it again sometime!
- William: I hope Santa gets me my own sleigh...
- Jasper: He might, William. He might.
- Munch: I can't wait until he eats the cookies I laid out for him. I always save the bestest ones for him.
- Pasqually: And I sure can't wait until he comes down the chimney! (giggles)
- Brandon: Can Santa really come down the chimney?
- Chuck E.: He sure can, Brandon. As a matter of fact, he's really good at doin' it.
- Helen: And you might hear such a clatter on the rooftop before he does!
- Charlie: Then how come I don't hear it?
- Jasper: Well, Charlie, Santa's always busy doing his things at night. He only comes when you're asleep, and you never know what he might do!
- Chuck E.: Why don't you tell 'em, Jasper?
- Jasper: I'm already on it, Chuckster!
(He begins strumming his guitar; music to "Up on the Housetop" starts.)
Jasper: Up on the housetop, reindeer pause
Out jumps good old Santa Claus
Down through the chimney with lots of toys
All for the little ones, Christmas joys
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
All: Up on the housetop, click, click, click
Down through the chimney with good St. Nick
Helen: First comes the stocking of little Nell
Oh, dear Santa, fill it well
Give her a dolly that laughs and cries
One that will open and shut her eyes
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
All: Up on the housetop, click, click, click
Down through the chimney with good St. Nick
(All laugh and dance around Jasper.)
- Jasper: Aw, yeah! This is the Santa breakdown! Come on, shake it!
(More laughter.)
Pasqually: Look in the stocking of little Bill
Oh just see, what a glorious thrill
Here is a hammer and lots of tacks
A whistle and ball and a whip that cracks
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
All: Up on the housetop, click, click, click
Down through the chimney with good St. Nick
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
Jasper and the kids: Ho, ho, ho
Jasper: Who wouldn't go
All: Up on the housetop, click, click, click
Down through the chimney with good... St.... Nick!
(Song ends and they all laugh. All of a sudden, a strange alarm noise rings out...)
- Jasper: Uh... what's that?
(They listen more...)
- Munch: I think it's coming from inside.
(They all run inside the restaurant; changes to the MMBB stage where the monitor is flashing "NORTH POLE ALERT". They all gather round.)
- Chuck E.: "North Pole Alert"? Now this is new. Hey, Larry? Could you answer the call?
- Larry: Sure thing, Chuck! Just let me get this remote and...
(He gets out a remote and pushes a button; the caller on the other hand is revealed to be Santa Claus himself!!)
- Santa: Chuck E. Cheese! This is Santa Claus calling!
- All: SANTA CLAUS!!!???!!!
- Charlie: I don't believe it! It's the REAL Santa Claus! And he's calling you, Chuck E.!
- Chuck E.: (dumbstruck) S-S-Santa??? I-i-is that... r-r-r-really you???!!! I-I-I-I-I didn't expect this! I...well...I guess I --
- Santa: Relax, Chuck E., I understand how surprising a situation this is. So, how's everything going for your party down there?
- Chuck E.: The party? Oh! The party at my place! It's going great!
- Jasper: So, why'd you call us, Santa?
- Munch: Yeah, spill the beans already!
- Pasqually: Ooh, I like beans.
- Helen: Not those kind of beans, Pasqually!
- Santa: Chuck E., I'm calling you because I need urgent help at the North Pole. A lot of problems have been going on lately, and unless we solve them, I won't have time to make my present deliveries, and there'll be no Christmas this year!
(Everyone in the restaurant gasps in horror.)
- All: NO CHRISTMAS!!??
- Charlie: Oh, that's terrible! What are you gonna do, Santa?
- Santa: So I hereby give this request to Chuck E. and friends, to please come to the North Pole so you can help save Christmas!
(Astonished gasps!)
- Chuck E.: Wow! Of course we can come help, Santa! We'll be there right away!
- Jasper: Um, not to be crazy all of a sudden, Santa, but how are gonna get to the North Pole? It's so far away!
- Santa: No worries, I'll help you all get here fast. All you have to do is... believe.
(The call ends; all voice confused murmers.)
- Katie: Believe? Chuck E., What did Santa mean by believe?
- Sam: Yeah, that doesn't even make sense.
(A beat...)
- Chuck E.: I think I know what he meant! Hold hands, everyone.
(They all join hands in a circle.)
- Helen: Now what?
- Chuck E.: Everyone, let's all close our eyes and think of the magic and wonder of the North Pole, and everything Santa does for us. (They do.) And maybe, just maybe, it should get us to the North Pole in a snap!
- Helen: Yes, I'm thinking of Santa right now!
- Jasper: I'm already thinking of the elves!
- Munch: I'm thinking of all the food Mrs. Claus is baking!
- Pasqually: What a coincidence, so am I!
- Charlie: I'm thinking of all the presents they're delivering!
- Kids: Yeah!
- Chuck E.: Great! I want you to think of the North Pole, too! (He closes his eyes.) Come on, let's go! We're coming, Santa!
(A bit of giggles from everyone as magic swirls around the room and encircles our party, and there is a blinding flash of light. When it clears, they are not in Chuck E. Cheese's anymore; instead they are standing on an open snowy forest terrain surrounded by pine trees. All have their eyes still closed and hands still holding tight.)
- Jasper: Did it work?
- Chuck E.: Well, let's open our eyes on the count of three and see. One, two, three!
(They open their eyes and look up... and gasp!)
- Megan: We made it!
- Matt: We're at the North Pole! See?
(Nearby is a big striped pole indicating the North Pole.)
- All: Oooooh...
- Munch: And look!
(Up ahead is a magnificent thatched building with a flag of Santa waving from the top.)
- All: Santa's workshop!!!
- Helen: And there's the reindeer!
(Santa's reindeer are hanging out and lounging in stables by the edge of the building.)
- Charlie: It worked, Chuck E.! When we believed, Santa's magic brought us here to help him!
- Chuck E.: It sure did, Charlie! Now let's all go and help the man in red! We've got a Christmas to save!
(They all cheer; music to "We Need a Little Christmas" starts as they all dance their way to the workshop.)
Chuck E.: Haul out the holly
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again
Fill up the stockings
I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now
All: For we need a little Christmas right this very minute
Candles in the window
Carols at the spinet
Yes, we need a little Christmas right this very minute
Munch: It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
Helen: But Santa dear. we're in a hurry!
(They open the doors; changes to inside, we see several machines all over the place as various toys of all sorts are being created by a myriad of elves.)
Kids: So climb down the chimney
Turn on the brightest string of lights I've ever seen
Elves: Slice up the fruitcake
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough
(They pass by the machines.)
Chuck E.: For I've grown a little leaner, grown a little colder
Grown a little sadder, grown a little older
Chuck E. and the kids: And I need a little angel sitting on my shoulder
Elves: We need a little Christmas now
- Spencer: Look at all these elves! And they're making toys!
- Toby: And a whole lot of 'em!
- Chuck E.: Hi, elves!
- Elves: Hi, Chuck E.!
- Helen: Santa Claus sent for us! We've come here to help him!
- Elf 1: Santa's waiting over there.
- Elf 2: He'll be happy to see all of you!
- Chuck E.: And I bet we'll be happy to see him, too!
All: For we need a little music, need a little laughter
Need a little singing, ringing through the rafter
And we need a little snappy happy ever after
We need a little Christ...mas... NOW!!!!!!!
(Song ends as they reach the other side of the room; Santa is here with Mrs. Claus aside, being suited up.)
- All: Santa!!!
- Santa: Chuck E.! Friends! Children! You've come just in time!
- Jessica: It was all because we believed, Santa!
- William: When we thought of you, your magic brought us right to you!
- Mrs. Claus: That's right, dears! When you believe in the magic of Christmas enough, you might pay us a visit. And your wish came true!
- Jasper: (sniffs the air) Something smells good.
- Mrs. Claus: Indeed you're right, Jasper! I've been trying to make cookies for all the elves here, but I've been so busy attaining to help with the toy machines, that I haven't had any time to bake them! Chuck E., would you and your friends come into the kitchen and help me bake?
- Chuck E.: Why sure we can, Mrs. Claus!
- Pasqually: Yeah! I can use my new whisks to help mix the batter!
(Chuck E., Jasper, Pasqually and Munch head through the door to the kitchen.)
- Mrs. Claus: Helen, you and the kids stay out here and help the elves finish all the toys.
- Helen: Of course, Mrs. Claus! Making toys is magical!
- Katie: I can't wait to make toys!
- Charlie: Me too, Katie! I've bought toys before, but I never saw how the elves made them!
- Helen: Hey, elves! Looks like you've got a bunch of extra hands with all that toy-making!
- Elves: YAY!!!
- Helen: Come on, let's get to work!
(They all cheer; changes to them making toys much later. Music to "Toyland" starts as they work.)
Helen: Toyland, Toyland
Little girl and boy land
While you dwell within it
You are ever happy then
Kids: Childhood's joyland
Mystic merry Toyland
Elves: Once you pass its borders
You can ne'er return again
- Charlie: Look, I made a toy truck!
- Megan: I made a rubber ducky!
- Brandon: I made a teddy bear!
- Pia: I made a choo-choo train!
- Matt: I made the dancing robot I've been asking for!
(All laugh; cuts to the kitchen where Chuck E. and the others are working on the cookie batter; Pasqually is using a mixer with the new whisks attached.)
- Mrs. Claus: Careful, Pasqually! That's a very sensitive device!
- Pasqually: Don't worry, Mrs. Claus! I've got it all under control.
(He starts the mixer up, and it splatters batter everywhere!)
- Pasqually: Whoaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
- All others: Whoa!!!!!!
- Chuck E.: Pasqually, what a mess!
- Munch: (tastes some) Mmm, but it still tastes good!
- Jasper: Yeah, perfect for Christmas!
(They all laugh; the working continues.)
Helen, kids, and elves: Toyland, Toyland
Little girl and boy land
Chuck E., Mrs. Claus, and friends: While you dwell within it
You are ever happy then
Helen, kids, and elves: Childhood's joyland
Chuck E., Mrs. Claus, and friends: Mystic merry Toyland
All: Once you pass its borders
You can ne'er return again
(The cookies go into the oven, and the final toys are produced.)
All: Once you pass its borders
You can ne'er return again
(Song ends.)
- Elf 3: That's the last one!
- Helen: All the toys are ready!
(Chuck E. and the others come out with Mrs. Claus.)
- Mrs. Claus: And wst one out in the snow is a frozen fruitcake!
(They all laugh and head to their respective activities; changes to outside much later, where Chuck E. and their half are doing various snow activities. Music to "Winter Wonderland" starts.)
Helen: Over the ground lies a mantle of white
A heaven of diamonds shine down through the night
Two hearts are thrilling, in spite of the chill in the weather
(Changes to the sleigh room inside; the other kids are preparing the sleigh by waxing, cleaning, and tying up the harness.)
Mrs. Claus: Love knows no season, love knows no clime
Romance can blossom any old time
Here in the open, we're walking and hoping together
(Cut back and forth between the snow fun and sleigh work.)
Helen: Sleigh bells ring, are you listenin'?
In the lane, snow is glistenin',
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland
Helen and Mrs. Claus: Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland
Chuck E.: In the meadow, we can build a snowman
And pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say, "Are you married?" We'll say, "No, man
But you can do the job when you're in town"
Helen and Mrs. Claus: Later on, we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid, the plans that we made,
Walking in a winter wonderland
- Jacob: Hey, Jasper! Over here!
- Jasper: (turns around) Huh?
- (Katie throws a snowball at him.)
- Jasper: ACK! Who threw that?!!
(Katie laughs.)
- Jasper: Why you...!
(He throws one back at her; more laughter.)
- Katie: Good shot, Jasper!
(Munch and Tiffany make snow angels; Tiffany finishes hers and stands up.)
- Tiffany: How do you like my snow angel, Munch?
- Munch: Not as good as mine!
(He stands up; his comes out as a big circle print.)
- Munch: Aw, man!
(Tiffany laughs.)
Kids: In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman
Until the other kiddies knock him down
Helen and Mrs. Claus: When it snows, ain't it thrilling?
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play the Eskimo way
Walking in a winter wonderland
Walking in a winter wonderland
Walking in a winter wonderland
(Song ends. The sleigh is all cleaned up and polished with the toy sack being loaded into the trunk; all the reindeer are being hitched up to the sleigh, ready to fly. Donner and Blitzen are up at the front.)
- Mrs. Claus: Here you go, Donner. Attaboy, Blitzen. That's good. There. The sleigh is ready to go!
(They all cheer; the snow players and Santa regroup.)
- Chuck E.: Now you can fly the sleigh and do your toy deliveries on time, Santa!
- Santa: That's right, Chuck E.! Except...
- All others: EXCEPT?!!
- Santa: Except... it's gonna be foggy out tonight, and my lead reindeer Rudolph is missing!
- Charlie: Not Rudolph!
- Jasper: Yeah! Without his shiny red nose to light the way, you'll get lost!
- Chuck E.: There has to be a way we can find him in time!
- Santa: Maybe there is, Chuck E. He may come back if you call him.
- Jasper: Ha, that's easy, Santa! (shouting loudly:) HEY RUDOLPH!!!
(It echoes out; nothing happens.)
- Munch: That's strange. Rudolph's not coming.
- Santa: Ho, ho, ho... silly Jasper. I trained Rudolph to come to the sound of whoever at the North Pole sings to him. He especially likes hearing his song.
- Chuck E.: Hey, yeah! I've got an idea! Maybe if we sing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", this'll make Rudolph come to us!
- Charlie: Great idea, Chuck E.! Let's all sing it!
- Chuck E.: You sing along with us, okay? Here we go!
(Music to "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" starts.)
Helen, Munch, Jasper, and Pasqually: You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen,
But do you recall,
The most famous reindeer of all?
Chuck E.: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glows
Chuck E. and the kids: All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They'd never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Chuck E.: Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how, the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
All: "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!"
(Hoofsteps are heard in the distance.)
- Chuck E.: Shh, did you hear that?
- Jacob: It sounds like... a running deer!
- Megan: I think it's Rudolph!
(From behind the trees in the distance, a red glow fades up.)
- Toby: Yeah, look! I see a red light! It must be Rudolph's nose!
- Helen: The song's working! Keep singing, everyone, and he'll come right over!
All: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glows
- Jasper: Yeah, like a lightbulb!
All: All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They'd never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
(The light gets brighter; here comes Rudolph, nose glowing bright and galloping.)
Chuck E.: Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
(Rudolph keeps running until he gets right over to them.)
Chuck E.: Then how, the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
All: "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!"
(Rudolph finally reaches them; Santa embraces him gently.)
- All: YAY!!!!!!
- Jessica: It worked! Rudolph is back safe and sound!
(Santa hitches him up.)
All: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in HIS...TO...RY!!!!!!!!!
(Song ends and they all cheer; Mrs. Claus comes out holding a tray full of the cookies she baked.)
- Mrs. Claus: Cookies for everyone! Come and get it!
(All voice cheers of "Cookies!" and they each take one and scarf them down.)
- Chuck E.: Mmm! These are delicious! Thanks, Mrs. Claus!
- Mrs. Claus: No, thank you! After all, you helped me bake them in time.
- Pasqually: Hey, I've got a joke! What is Santa's favorite exercise?
(All voice confused comments.)
- Chuck E.: Pasqually, I give up! What is Santa's favorite exercise?
- Pasqually: The "pole" vault! Heehee...get it?
(All burst into laughter except Jasper.)
- Jasper: Man, oh, man. He even does this on Christmas.
- Munch: Jasper, be nice! You don't wanna be on the naughty list, do you?
- Jasper: Stand down, Munch.
- Santa: Thank you so much, everyone! Now, because of you, Christmas is saved, and I can start my deliveries on time!
(All cheer.)
- Santa: Now, I've gotta get you back to your party. How would you like to go for a ride in the sleigh?
- Charlie: Santa's sleigh?!! Oh, I'd love to! Can we really ride in it, Chuck E.?!!
- Chuck E.: Why, sure we can, Charlie! Let's go!
(Changes to much later; now it's nighttime. Everyone is seated in the sleigh, and Mrs. Claus and the elves watch from behind. Santa mans the reins.)
- Santa: Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!
(He whips them; this sets the reindeer running.)
- Santa: On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen!
(The sleigh begins to raise off the ground.)
- All: Whoa!!!
- Santa: To the top of the roof, to the top of the wall! Now, dash away, dash away, dash away all!
(Mrs. Claus and the elves wave and voice their goodbyes; now the sleigh is up high in the sky! Rudolph is up at the front, nose lighting the way through the foggy night as everyone in the sleigh cheers. Music to "Holly Jolly Christmas" starts as they ride.)
Chuck E.: Have a holly jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
Oh, I don't know If there'll be snow,
But have a cup of cheer
(The northern lights shine behind them.)
Chuck E. and Helen: Have a holly jolly Christmas
Chuck E.: And when you walk down the street,
Say "hello" to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Chuck E. and Helen: Oh ho, the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Chuck E.: Somebody waits for you,
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear,
Oh by golly, have a holly jolly Christmas this year!
- Charlie: Look, I can see my house from here!
(All voice amazed comments.)
- Chuck E.: And there's your school, Charlie!
(More comments.)
- Helen: Oh, Chuck E., I love this view from up here! I wanna spend every moment of it with you!
- Chuck E.: Whoa... (nervous chuckle) So do I, Helen. (more chuckles)
Kids: Oh ho, the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Chuck E.: Somebody waits for you,
Kiss her once for me
All: Have a holly jolly Christmas
Chuck E.: And in case you didn't hear,
All: Oh by golly, have a holly jolly Christmas this year!
Oh by golly, have a holly jolly Christmas... this year!!!
(Song ends. Changes to outside Chuck E. Cheese's; everyone is standing around the big tree waiting to be lit. Mrs. Hendricks, Mrs. Miller, and Larry are at the front; Frosty has rejoined as well. They see the glow from Rudolph's nose in the distance.)
- Mrs. Hendricks: Look, Santa's here!
- Santa: Ho, ho, ho!
(Down comes the sleigh, and they all cheer and clear the way to let it land, letting everyone off.)
- Mrs. Miller: And they're back!
- Larry: So, how was the trip?
- Chuck E.: It was amazing, Larry! We got to see Santa's workshop!
- Katie: Yeah, and we made toys!
- David: And baked cookies, too!
- William: And played in the snow!
- Pia: And got the sleigh ready!
- Charlie: And Santa got to fly us back home!
- Chuck E.: Now, we can start the tree-lighting ceremony!
(They all cheer; changes to much later, everyone is all standing around the big tree. Chuck E. and friends are onstage, Larry standing aside with a remote in hand.)
- Chuck E.: I'd like to thank all of you for coming to celebrate the night before Christmas right here at Chuck E. Cheese's!
(Applause.)
- Chuck E.: So now, without further ado, what do you say we light this big tree right behind us?!
(More applause.)
- Chuck E.: Ready, Larry?
- Larry: Ready when you are, Chuck!
- Chuck E.: Come on! Let's all count down and light the tree! Count down with me! Start with five!
- All: Five, four, three, two, one!
(Larry hits the button on the remote; behind them, the tree bursts to life with light, starting from the bottom up, and ending with the big star on the very top. All applaud.)
- Munch: Now let's all get this season started with a Christmas carol!
- Chuck E.: Come on, everybody! Sing with us!
(More applause; Mrs. Hendricks begins playing the piano as the music to "O Christmas Tree" starts.)
All: O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
Although we love your pines so green
Your lights are bright, we watch them gleam
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
(Mrs. Hendricks slow dances with Frosty; Pasqually serves the hot chocolate, and Mrs. Miller hands out cookies.)
All: O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so enchanting
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so enchanting
With ornaments and star up high
We watch you light the clear black sky
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so enchanting
(Now they all join hands in a circle round the tree.)
All: O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
Through summer's day and winter's night
We join our hands on Christmas night
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
(Song ends; they all cheer.)
- Helen: Oh, it's so beautiful!
- Santa: Okay, kids, I've got a special Christmas Eve surprise for all of you! A present for EVERYONE!
(Everyone cheers loudly and line up; Santa gives them a present one by one. Several guests open them and marvel at them.)
- Matt: The dancing robot! YES!
- Jasper: (gasps) My snowboard! Just what I wanted!
(Chuck E. is the last to step up.)
- Santa: Here's your present, Chuck E. It's the best one of all.
- Chuck E.: Hey, thanks, Santa!
(He opens the gift and looks inside, and his friends peer in with him...it's empty.)
- Chuck E.: It's empty.
- Jasper: Uh-oh! Are you on the naughty list?
- Santa: No, ho, ho, ho! Chuck E., your gift is the best of all, because I've decided it should be anything you want. I'm giving you a Christmas wish.
- Chuck E.: A Christmas wish? For me? Wow! This is amazing! What should I wish for, Santa?
- Santa: Whatever your heart desires.
- Charlie: Go ahead, Chuck E., make a wish!
- David: Yeah! Make a wish, make a wish!
- Pia: I can't wait to see what you wish for!
- All but Chuck E.: Make a wish, Chuck E.!!!
- Chuck E.: Will you help me make my wish? Great! Close your eyes really tight, and wish with all your heart! Ready? Now, wish, wish, wish!!!
(He closes his eyes and concentrates for several seconds. Suddenly, the box glows and magic flies out of it. The magic swirls around the whole restaurant and there is a flash of light; when it clears, the whole outside is decorated with a myriad of magnificent decorations and lights, and it begins to snow. All marvel at the spectacle.)
- All but Chuck E.: Wow...!
- Chuck E.: (opens his eyes; gasps) My wish came true! I wished for everyone here at Chuck E. Cheese's to have the best Christmas ever!
- Frosty: Would you look at that?
- Mrs. Hendricks: It's a wonderful wish!
- Larry: Oh, Chuck, you made Christmas magical!
- Santa: You bet he did, Larry! Now, I have one more magical surprise for Chuck E. and his gang.
- Helen: Really?
- Munch: What is it, Santa?
- Santa: Look...
(He touches the side of his nose with one finger, and in an instant, magic swirls around Chuck E. and friends, bathing them in light like before, followed by a blinding flash of light; when it clears, all five are dressed in festive Christmas attire. Munch, Pasqually, and Jasper have Santa hats and matching sweaters, Helen has a sparkly gown and holly in her hair, and Chuck E. is dressed just like Santa. All voice marveling and excited comments and cheer.)
- Chuck E.: Look at me, everybody! I'm Chuck E. Claus!
- Pasqually: My, you look darling, Miss Helen!
- Helen: (giggles) Why, thank you!
- Jasper: Now we can really get this Christmas party started!
- Santa: Jasper's right, Chuck E., now how about we spread some holiday cheer?
- Chuck E.: Way ahead of you, Santa! Come on, kids and families! Let's celebrate!!!!!!
(All their guests cheer happily as the party really gets started. Music to "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" starts.)
All: We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year!
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year!
Helen: Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin,
Chuck E.: Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
- Helen: Hey, Chuck E.! Look! (points up)
- Chuck E.: Hmm?
(They are standing under mistletoe.)
- Chuck E.: Oh... ah...
- Jasper: (teasingly) Mistletoe!
- Chuck E.: I... well...
(Helen kisses Chuck E. on the nose.)
- Chuck E.: Aww... (giggles)
(He kisses her back, and she giggles in reply.)
- All others: Ooooooooh!
- Munch: I've brought some figgy pudding!
(All start shouting for it.)
Jasper: Now bring us some figgy pudding,
Now bring us some figgy pudding,
Now bring us some figgy pudding,
And bring it right here!
Pasqually: We won't go until we get some,
We won't go until we get some,
We won't go until we get some,
So bring some right here!
Kids: Good tidings to kids
Wherever they are,
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
- Santa: Well, this was fun, but I'd better be flying now. I have present deliveries to make later tonight.
- Chuck E.: That's right, Santa! I'll be sure to get to bed on time so I can see my presents tomorrow!
- Charlie: Yeah, me too! I had fun at the North Pole! Making all those toys and getting the sleigh ready...
- Jasper: Don't forget calling Rudolph!
- Helen: But what was really grand was when we believed in the North Pole, your magic brought us right to you!
- Santa: (giggles) Indeed I did, Helen! But the true meaning of Christmas is not the presents or cookies or anything you get from me, it's what you do to help others, by giving to those in need, and especially spending it with your family and friends.
- Chuck E.: You bet you're right, Santa! And helping you save Christmas was the best gift of all!
(Everyone else cheers in reply.)
- Santa: On, fellow reindeer! Onward!
(Santa takes off into the sky, laughing; everyone voices cries of "Goodbye, Santa!" somewhat until he's out of sight.)
- Santa: Merry Christmas!
(Once he's gone...)
- Charlie: Merry Christmas, Chuck E.! Thank you for the best Christmas ever!
- Chuck E.: Aw, you're welcome, Charlie. Merry Christmas, everyone!
- All others: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
- Chuck E.: And a very merry Christmas to you, too! Hope yours is awesome, too!
(They all cheer.)
All: We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year!
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin,
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year!
- Chuck E.: Merry Christmas to all!
- All: And to all, a Chuck E. Cheese night!
(They all cheer.)
All: We wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy...
NEW YEAR!!!!!!
(Pans up to the night sky; Santa's sleigh passes by the full moon.)
- Santa: HO, HO, HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
(The words "Merry Christmas from Chuck E. Cheese's" fades up, ending the show.)
(End credits.)
