(The opening starts with Chuck E. walking through his neighborhood; houses are all tricked out with Halloween decorations and pumpkins.)
- Kids: Hi, Chuck E.!
- Chuck E.: Hey, kids! Happy Halloween!
- Kids: Happy Halloween!
- Chuck E.: (giggles; sees the viewer) Hey there! You're just in time! Today is a really spooky day -- it's Halloween!
(Music to "It's Halloween" starts.)
- Chuck E.: It's that time again, on the 31st of October
- Time for us to get our scare on
- There's pumpkins and goblins, and ghouls and ghosts galore
- And kids will get a fright and soon come back and scare some more
(Some kids come out of nowhere to dance with him.)
- Chuck E. and the kids: It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Gonna get spooked up, 'cause today is Halloween
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Let's all have a scary time, 'cause it's Halloween
(Chuck E.'s friends are up the sidewalk.)
- Jasper: I think I feel a chill, and it's the fun one so to speak
- Helen: It's the night where we dress up and give a fright
- Munch: I hope there'll be lots of candy, we're gonna go from door-to-door
- Pasqually: And when kids shout "Trick or treat," they'll soon come back for more
(They too are joined by some children.)
- All but Chuck E.: It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Gonna get spooked up, 'cause today is Halloween
- Helen: It's Halloween
- All but Chuck E.: It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Let's all have a scary time, 'cause it's Halloween
- Helen: Happy Halloween, children!
- Kids: Happy Halloween!
(Chuck E. comes over with the children who joined him.)
- Chuck E.: Hey, guys! Happy Halloween!
(They all exchange cries of "Happy Halloween" somewhat.)
- Pasqually: Oh, Chuck E., I love Halloween! It's the night where people put out ghosts and monsters and pumpkins and such...
- Jasper: And we get to dress up in costumes...
- Munch: And eat candy! Lots and lots of candy!
- Helen: True, Munch. But what's more fun than candy is going door-to-door and getting candy from your neighbors!
- Chuck E.: Yeah! Tonight we're going trick-or-treating with Charlie and his classmates!
- Pasqually: Hey, I've got a joke! Knock, knock!
- All others: Who's there?
- Pasqually: Orange!
- All others: Orange who?
- Pasqually: Orange you excited for trick-or-treating tonight?
(All but Jasper laugh as they head down the sidewalk.)
- Jasper: This never gets old...
(Changes to the exterior of Chuck E.'s house; they walk up the sidewalk.)
- Chuck E.: When we're out at night under the full moon
- Munch: You'll soon be hearing us singing our spooky tune
- Jasper: It'll be the scariest night that anyone's ever seen
- Helen: All because today is Halloween
- All others: It's Halloween...!
- All: It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Gonna get spooked up, 'cause today is Halloween
- Helen: It's Halloween
- All: It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- It's Halloween, (Halloween)
- Let's all have a scary time, 'cause it's Halloween (Halloween)
- It's Hall...o...ween!
(Song ends; they cheer and the kids disperse, and they head up to the front door.)
- Chuck E.: See you later, kids! Come on, let's go inside!
(They enter; cut to inside the house to reveal Chuck E.'s decked-out living room.)
- Jasper: Wow, Chuck E.! You really went all out this year!
- Chuck E.: Sure did, huh? I tend to take Halloween very seriously, as we do at my place.
(Barking is heard; Chuck E.'s dog Pepperoni is on the armchair wearing a pumpkin costume.)
- Chuck E.: Oh, look! Even Pepperoni's in the spirit!
- Helen: Yeah, he's a little pumpkin! So cute! (giggles)
- Munch: Speaking of pumpkins, we'd better start getting our pumpkins ready!
- Chuck E.: You're right, Munch! Come on!
(They hurry to the kitchen; five already-prepared pumpkins sit at the table. They each sit down before one.)
- Pasqually: Oh-ho... I just love carving pumpkins and turning them into magnificent jack-o'-lanterns!
- Munch: Yeah! Let's get started!
- Chuck E.: To make a jack-o'-lantern, first you have to prepare your pumpkin. You use a knife to cut the stem out and make a hole in the top.
- Helen: Then, you scoop out the pumpkin guts and save the seeds inside, so it's hollowed out in the middle.
- Munch: Saving the seeds is the fun part, 'cause you can roast 'em and eat 'em!
- Jasper: Yeah! They taste like popcorn!
- Pasqually: And once your pumpkin is fully cleaned out, now comes the really fun part -- making the face!
- Chuck E.: You use this marker to draw the eyes, the nose, and the mouth. And they can be whatever you can think of. All you gotta do is be creative.
(He starts sketching the face of his pumpkin; he draws a triangle eye.)
- Chuck E.: (muttering) And...there we go...
- Jasper: And there is no right or wrong when it comes to making faces. Even if they don't turn out as well.
(He turns his pumpkin around to reveal an odd-looking face; the eyes are uneven and different shapes, the nose is too small, and the mouth widens at the right. Everyone laughs.)
- Pasqually: That's the strangest pumpkin I've ever seen, Jasper!
- Chuck E.: Yeah, Jasper, it's crazy!
- Jasper: Oh...!
- Helen: It's okay, Jasper. They're laughing with you, not at you. I think your pumpkin face looks good.
- Jasper: Really? Oh, thanks, Helen.
(Chuck E. finishes his pumpkin; he made a traditional face with triangle eyes and nose, and a smile with two buck teeth.)
- Chuck E.: And...done! Look at my pumpkin, everyone!
(The others reveal their faces.)
- Munch: I made a hungry-looking face.
- Pasqually: I made an excited face!
- Helen: I made a lovey-dovey face! (giggles)
- Chuck E.: All right! Now we have to carve out the face parts with this knife. Just be careful, you don't wanna cut yourself.
(He demonstrates by carving out the left eye; he follows along the marker line and pushes it out. Jasper carves as well, but...)
- Jasper: Ouch! (pulls back finger) Just like that.
- Helen: And once the faces have been fully carved, it's time to put them on display outside!
- Munch: You put them on your doorstep and place a candle inside it which you light.
- Pasqually: Yeah! It's like an outdoor nightlight! (giggles)
(The pumpkins are fully carved; Jasper finishes his.)
- Jasper: It's ready!
- Helen: Wow! Five little pumpkins sitting on our table!
- Munch: Hey, Chuck E.? Isn't there a song called "Five Little Pumpkins"?
- Chuck E.: There sure is, Munch. Wanna sing it before we put our jack-o'-lanterns out?
- Munch: I'd love to!
- Jasper: Yeah, let's sing it!
- Chuck E.: All right! You can sing along, too! Come on!
(They all get up and take their pumpkins with them; music to "Five Little Pumpkins" starts as they gather in the living room and put their pumpkins on the coffee table before dancing.)
- All: Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
- Jasper: The first one said, "Oh, my, it's getting late!"
- Helen: The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
- Munch: The third one said, "But we don't care!"
- Pasqually: The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
- Chuck E.: The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
- All: Ooooooooooooo went the wind and out went the light
- And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
(They laugh and dance around; they put their pumpkins on the floor.)
- All: Five little pumpkins sitting on the ground
- Jasper: The first one said, "I see ghosts all around!"
- Helen: The second one said, "I feel a howling breeze!"
- Munch: The third one said, "I'll scare you with ease!"
- Pasqually: The fourth one said, "There are monsters out tonight!"
- Chuck E.: The fifth one said, "Let's give them all a fright!"
- All: Ooooooooooooo went the wind and out went the light
- And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
(Changes to Chuck E.'s front porch; they come out and put them in a good spot before lighting the candles in them.)
- All: Five little pumpkins sitting on the stairs
- Jasper: The first one said, "I see children over there!"
- Helen: The second one said, "I'm ready to go!"
- Munch: The third one said, "It's time for us to glow!"
- Pasqually: The fourth one said, "Let's shine really bright!"
- Chuck E.: The fifth one said, "It's Halloween night!"
- All: Ooooooooooooo went the wind and out went the light
- And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
- Ooooooooooooo went the wind and out went the light
- And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
(Song ends; they all voice astounded comments over their pumpkins. Suddenly, Charlie sneaks up behind them in a ghost costume and holding a goodie bag.)
- Charlie: Boo!
(They all shriek in surprise.)
- Jasper: A ghost! OH, NO!
- Chuck E.: (giggles) Relax, Jasper, that's no ghost. It's our friend, Charlie Rockit. And he's dressed like a ghost.
- Charlie: Hi, guys!
- Others: Hi, Charlie!
- Helen: Cool ghost costume!
- Charlie: Thanks! I can't wait to go trick-or-treating with you guys!
- Munch: Me neither, Charlie! It's gonna be awesome!
- Jasper: Hey, do you think you can teach us how to be ghosts while we wait?
- Charlie: Sure I can! Come on!
(They head back inside; cuts to the living room. They sit on the couch while Charlie puts his goodie bag down to demonstrate.)
- Charlie: Watch this: You hold your arms out like this, and pretend to float around the room. And you make spooky noises! Woooooo... woooooo...
- Helen: Ooh! I wanna be a ghost, too!
- Chuck E.: Let's all be ghosts! Come on, everybody! (They stand up.) You too! Stand up and be ghosts with us!
(They all pretend to be ghosts like Charlie.)
- All: Woooooo... woooooo... woooooo... (laughing)
(Music to "Be a Ghost" starts.)
- Chuck E.: If you wanna be a ghost, there's a simple thing to do
- Hold your arms out, pretend to fly, jump out and say, "Boo"
- Jasper: Boo!
- Helen: We can all be spooky, and we might scare you
- Chuck E.: That's how you learn to be a ghost, that's the way we do
- Munch: Woooooo... (at Helen) Boo!
- Helen: Whoa! You scared me, Ghost of Mr. Munch!
- Chuck E.: Woooooo... I am Ghostly Chuck E.!
- Jasper: And I am Ghostly Jasper T.!
- Pasqually: Beware...beware...!
- Charlie: Wow! You guys make amazing ghosts! Now let's do our ghostly dance!
- All: We can all be spooky ghosts, and scare up the scene
- No one will suspect a thing, we'll give them all a scream
- Jasper: AHHHHHH!!!!
- All: That's how we can be a ghost, the ghostliest friends you've seen
- And the ghosts are going all out, 'cause today is Halloween!
- Boo, boo, BOO!!!
(Song ends and they all laugh.)
- Munch: I love being a ghost!
(Suddenly, the sound of a cuckoo clock catches them off-guard. Shows said clock on the wall; it's at 3:00.)
- Jasper: Oh, my gosh! Look at the time! It's getting dark out!
- Helen: Yeah, and the other kids will be here soon!
- Charlie: Sounds like you'd better start getting ready.
- Chuck E.: Yeah! We need to put on our costumes!
- Munch: But what are we gonna be?
- Chuck E.: I have lots of costumes upstairs! Let's go to my closet and see! It's up in my room!
(They all cheer and voice excited comments as they follow him upstairs.)
- Jasper: Let's go!
(Cuts to the top of the staircase as they climb and head down the hallway to Chuck E.'s bedroom door. Music to "Costume Song" starts.)
- Chuck E.: We're gonna get dressed up tonight
- Look real good for quite a fright
- While the moon is shining bright
- We have to prepare, 'cause it's Halloween night
(They enter; changes to Chuck E.'s bedroom as they gather round.)
- Chuck E.: We can be whatever we wanna be
- Possibilities are endless without fail
- Get on your mask, and wear a cape
- Or maybe even wings and a tail (giggles)
- All: Who knew dressing up would be quite a fright?
- Let's all put on our costumes, 'cause it's Halloween night
- Chuck E.: Okay, the closet's over there. Who wants to dress up first?
- Helen: Oh! Me first! Me, me, me!
- Chuck E.: Okay, Helen, go for it!
- All others: Go, Helen!/Yeah!/Dress up, girl!
(More comments overlap as she reaches the closet.)
- Helen: Here I go!
(She gets inside the closet and closes the doors. We hear the sound of clothes being changed and things being tossed around as the remaining five watch. After a few more seconds, the closet doors swing open, and Helen's costume is revealed.)
- Helen: I am a witch with my broomstick and my hat
- I fly through the night all dressed in black
(She pretends to fly around the room.)
- Helen: Zoom, zoom, zoom!
(Astounded comments overlap from everyone as they applaud.)
- Pasqually: My, oh, my!
- Charlie: You look great, Witch Helen!
- Helen: (giggles) Why, thank you!
- Jasper: (stands up) Ooh, ooh! My turn!
- Chuck E.: Okay, Jasper!
- All others: Yeah!/You've got it!/Go, Jasper T.!
(More comments overlap as he enters the closet; the doors close again. More sound effects are heard; the doors swing open as Jasper's costume is revealed.)

- Hunting for treasure and sharing it with ease

- All others: Aye-aye, Captain Jasper! (laugh)
- All: Who knew dressing up would be quite a fright?
- We're putting on our costumes, 'cause it's Halloween night
- Pasqually: (stands up) I'm next! Prepare to be amazed!
- Chuck E.: I can't wait to see, Pasqually!
- All others: Yeah, Pasqually!/Whoo-hoo!
(More overlapping comments as he enters the closet, closing the doors; sounds are heard from inside accompanied by Pasqually's laughter and grunts. A few seconds of silence, then the doors open to reveal Pasqually's costume.)
- Pasqually: Ta-da!
- I am a wizard and I've got my magic wand
- Casting lots of spells of which I am fond
- Abracadabra! Alakazam! Kazoom!
(Excited and surprised overlapping comments from everyone.)
- Jasper: (faux horror) No, Wizard Pasqually! Don't turn me into a cat! (dryly) Seriously, don't.
- Munch: Now me! Watch this!
- Chuck E.: You've got this, Munch!
- All others: Yeah, Mr. Munch!/Whoo-hoo!/Go, Munch!
(More overlapping comments; Munch enters the closet and closes the doors. Sound effects are heard; after which the doors open and Munch's costume is revealed.)
- Munch: I am a skeleton, I'm chillin' to the bone
- Watch me do my silly dance, you know I ain't alone
- I call this the bone dance!
(He dances like a skeleton for the others; they voice overlapping comments of amazement.)
- Helen: Rock it, Skeleton Munch!
- Chuck E.: Well, guess I'm last.
- Charlie: Chuck E., what's your costume gonna be?
- Chuck E.: Oh, you'll see!
- All others: Yeah!/Go, Chuck E.!/Whoo-ooo!
(More overlapping comments; he reaches the closet.)
- Chuck E.: Okay, here goes!
(He goes in and closes the doors. Loads of sound effects are heard for several seconds, slightly longer than the previous rounds, before they finally die down. One last time, the doors swing open as Chuck E.'s costume is revealed.)
- Chuck E.: I am a farmer, and I grow lots of things
- Like carrots and cornstalks and beans from strings
- And pumpkins, too! Who wants one?
- All others: Me!/I do!
(He hands each of them a miniature pumpkin from a basket.)
- Charlie: Thank you, Farmer Chuck E.!
- Jasper: Wow, we look great!
- Pasqually: And spooky!
- Chuck E.: Now we're ready to go trick-or-treating!
(They all cheer.)
- All: We're all dressed up, we can't be beat
- Now we're ready to trick-or-treat
- I look great, so do you
- Now it's time to laugh and sing and say "Boo!"

- Jasper: Uh-oh...look what Jessica dressed up as...!
- Jessica: I'm a kitty cat! Meow!
- Jasper: Oh... must... CHASE!
(Jessica screams and giggles as Jasper chases her.)
- Chuck E.: And I wonder what Katie decided to be.
(Katie turns around...)
- Katie: Ta-da! Chuck E., I'm you!
- Chuck E.: WHOA! (laughs loudly) Katie, that's amazing!

- Pasqually: It's the clock again! We'd better get goin'!
- Chuck E.: All right, everyone! Get your bags, and we're off!
(They all cheer; each one holds their goodie bag and exits.)
- Chuck E.: Bye, Pepperoni!
(Pepperoni barks goodbye; changes to outside as they all walk down the front porch steps and down the path to the sidewalk. It is now dusk, and the jack-o'-lanterns are shining brightly. The kids all cheer excitedly as Chuck E. leads the group down the sidewalk to the first house.)
- Chuck E.: Let's start here, guys, at Mrs. Hendrick's house.
- Munch: Yeah! She gives out lots of treats!
(They go up the path to Mrs. Hendrick's house.)
- Tiffany: Wow, look at all those skeletons!
- Megan: And the pumpkins look cool!
(They reach the door.)
- Helen: So how do we trick-or-treat, Chuck E.?
- Chuck E.: It's easy. You ring someone's doorbell, and when they open the door, you say, "Trick or treat!" and they give you treats!
- Charlie: Wow! Come on, Chuck E., let's do it! I want some candy!
(The other kids cheer anticipated.)
- Chuck E.: Okay, then, here we go!
(He rings the doorbell.)
- Chuck E.: Get ready, when the door opens, say "Trick or treat!". Come on, say it with us.
(They all get into position; the door opens, and Mrs. Hendricks steps out, holding a bowl full of candy.)
- All: Trick or treat!!!
- Mrs. Hendricks: Oh, my! Trick or treaters! And Chuck E., dear!
- Chuck E.: Happy Halloween, Mrs. Hendricks!
- Munch: Do you have any sweets? I'm hungry!!!

(She closes the door; they walk back to the sidewalk and laugh.)
- Sam: Wow! I never knew trick or treating would be such fun!

- Chuck E.: Everyone's got their bags, we're heading out tonight
- Feel the chill that's in the air giving us a fright

(Here comes the candy.)
- All: Trick or treat, trick or treat
- That's what you say when you want some sweets
- Today is Halloween and there's lots of friends to meet
- We sure love to say trick or treat!
(Next house; the door opens.)
- All: Trick or treat!...LARRY?
(They are at Larry's house; Larry is dressed in a Christmas sweater and Santa hat.)
- Chuck E.: Larry, why are you dressed like that?
- Jasper: Yeah, that's not for like, two more months!
- Larry: Sorry, Chuck, but this is the only costume I could find. And my pumpkin costume got ripped yesterday.
- Chuck E.: That's okay, Larry. Your costume is unique. I like it.
- Kids: Yeah!
- Larry: Well, if you guys say so... here! Have some candy!
(He hands out their candy.)
- All: Yeah!!! Thanks, Larry!
- Larry: Happy to help! See you at the party!
- Munch: Door to door we're going, visit every friend we see
- Pasqually: Gather up some goodies, some for you and some for me
- Chuck E.: We shouldn't stop now, let's go up another street
- And when the door opens, we're prepared to say...
(Montage of doors opening and everyone getting their candy.)
All: Trick or treat, trick or treat
- That's what you say when you want some sweets
- Today is Halloween and there's lots of friends to meet
- We sure love to say trick or treat!
- Trick or treat!
(Song ends; they all laugh and come to the next house.)
- Sophie: Hey, guys! There's Mrs. Miller's house!
- Matt: I bet she serves twice as many candy than any other house in our neighborhood!
- Jasper: Yeah, Chuck E., let's go see her!
- Chuck E.: Okay!
(They all cheer and head up to Mrs. Miller's door; Chuck E. rings the doorbell.)
- Chuck E.: Remember, when Mrs. Miller opens the door, say "Trick or treat!"
(All wait; the door opens for Mrs. Miller to come out; she is dressed like a witch.)
- All: Trick or treat!!!
- Mrs. Miller: Oh! Hello, kids! I didn't expect you to come by!
- Helen: Hey, Mrs. Miller! You're a witch, just like me!
- Mrs. Miller: That's right, Helen. And you wanna know why I like dressing as one?
- Abby: What is it, Mrs. Miller?
- Chuck E.: Yeah, tell us!
- Mrs. Miller: Because witches are magical, and they like casting lots and lots of spells. Right now, I've decided to cast a spell on you...to have some candy!
(They all laugh and cheer and get their candy from her.)
- Chuck E.: Whoa...I'm under a spell! I can't help it, I need candy!
- Munch: Yeah, me too!
- Helen: Hey, Mrs. Miller! I'm gonna cast a spell, too!
- Jasper: No, please! Don't turn me into a cat! Seriously, don't!
- Helen: I command all of you... TO DANCE!!!
(They all laugh and cheer loudly; music to "Casting My Spell" starts as they all dance together.)
- Chuck E.: (faux scared) Oh, no! I'm under a dancing spell! (giggles)
- Charlie: I have to feel the beat no matter what!
- Helen: That's right! And that means you're under my spell, too! So everyone, get up and shake your spookies out!
- Munch: Yeah, let's dance!
- Helen: I took a black cat, a cave bat
- And threw them in a pot-pot, pot-pot, pot-pot
- I took a blue snake, a green snake
- And tied them in a knot-knot, knot-knot, knot-knot
- I took a hog jaw, a dog's paw
- And hung them on the line-line, line-line, line-line
- I took a horse hair, a green pear
- And made a crazy sign-sign, sign-sign, sign-sign
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- You'll never never be untrue
- Jasper: Whoa! I'm dancin' up a storm!
- Spencer: I wanna stop, but I can't fight it!
- Jessica: I'll never fight Witch Helen!
- Abby: Yeah! I feel like dancing forever! Or at least until the end of the night. (giggles)
- Helen: I took a goat's tooth, an old shoe
- And put them in the ground-ground, ground-ground, ground-ground
- I took an old dish, a dried fish
- And made a crazy sound-sound, sound-sound, sound-sound
- I took a goose egg, a frog leg
- And hid them in a sack-sack, sack-sack, sack-sack
- I got a Hindu to tattoo
- A genie on my back-back, back-back, back-back
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- You'll never-never be untrue, yeah
- Sophie: I can't stop dancing! I'm under Witch Helen's spell!
- Jacob: We're all under the spell!
- David: This is the greatest spell I've ever fallen under!
- Helen: Now I command all of you to sing along with me!
- All others: YEAH!!!
- Helen: Come on, everybody sing! One, two, three!
- All: I took a black cat, a cave bat
- And threw them in a pot-pot, pot-pot, pot-pot
- I took a blue snake, a green snake
- And tied them in a knot-knot, knot-knot, knot-knot
- I took a hog jaw, a dog's paw
- And hung them on the line-line, line-line, line-line
- I took a horse hair, a green pear
- And made a crazy sign-sign, sign-sign, sign-sign
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- I'm castin' my spell on you
- You'll never-never be untrue
- You'll never-never be untrue
- You'll never-never be untrue
- You'll never-never be untrue
- You'll never-never be untrue
- Helen: This dance spell is...BROKEN!
(Song ends as they all stop dancing and laugh.)
- Brandon: That was crazy! I love dancing under a witch's spell!
- Pasqually: I wish I could've casted that spell; I'm a wizard, y'know.
- Chuck E.: And thanks for the candy, Mrs. Miller. Can't wait to see you at the party at Chuck E. Cheese's later!
- Mrs. Miller: Me neither, Chuck E. Hey, I know a fast way to get there!
(They all gather up and chatter.)
- Charlie: What's the fastest way?
- Mrs. Miller: To get to Chuck E. Cheese's the fastest, you must cross through the cornfield over on the next block, and make your way through the haunted house across from that.
- Chuck E.: Thanks for the advice, Mrs. Miller. We'll remember.
- Mrs. Miller: See you soon, kids! And Happy Halloween!
(They voice their goodbyes and cheers of "Happy Halloween!" as they leave. Changes to much later; the full moon is high in the sky as they walk down the block. Behind them is a countryside blocked by impassable trees.)
- Chuck E.: Well, that was the last house for this block... there's a lot of traffic up ahead.
- Charlie: Yeah, and the party's gonna start soon. We should be going.
- Katie: Remember what Mrs. Miller said? To get to Chuck E. Cheese's the fastest, we have to cross the cornfield and go through the haunted house!
- Munch: (sniffs the air) I smell corn nearby.
- Jasper: (sniffs) I do, too! Looks like we're comin' upon...
(Now the view behind them is clear; they are standing before ginormous cornstalks piled up to the sky.)
- All: THE CORNFIELD!
- David: Whoa...look at all this corn! It's so high!
- Megan: This looks really strange.
- Spencer: But we have to go through it to get to Chuck E. Cheese's.
- Chuck E.: Come on, guys, we're goin' in!
(They part the cornstalks out of the way and start making their way through slowly. It is dark, and the corn is so high it reaches over their heads.)
- William: I've never been in a cornfield this huge, before!
- Tiffany: Yeah, it's so big!
- Megan: And dark!
- Sophie: And scary!
- Charlie: Guys, I'm getting scared! I don't wanna go through the cornfield!
- Katie: Me neither!
(The kids all crowd up, shaking with fright.)
- Chuck E.: Aw, don't be scared, guys. We can get through this.
- Toby: But how?
- Pasqually: Maybe if we do something fun, we could cheer you guys up.
- Helen: How about a silly Halloween dance?
- Munch: I know! Let's dance like skeletons! I'm a skeleton, and they love to shake their bones to the Halloween beat!
- Chuck E.: Great idea, Munch! You can be the leader!
- Munch: Come on, kids! Let's get ready to dance like skeletons and shake out the scary! You dance like a skeleton too, okay? And here...we...go!!!
(They all start doing a skeleton dance with Munch leading; music to "Spooky Scary Skeletons" starts.)
- Munch: Spooky scary skeletons
- Send shivers down your spine
- Shrieking skulls will shock your soul
- Seal your doom tonight
- Munch and the kids: Spooky scary skeletons
- Munch: Speak with such a screech
- Munch and the kids: You'll shake and shudder in surprise
- Munch: When you hear these zombies shriek
- Chuck E.: We're so sorry, skeletons
- You're so misunderstood
- You only want to socialize
- Jasper: But I don't think we should
All: Cause spooky scary skeletons
- Munch: Shout startling shrilly screams
- Munch and the kids: They'll sneak from their sarcophagus
- Munch: And just won't leave you be
(All dancing for four bars)
- Chuck E.: Spirits supernatural
- Are shy what's all the fuss
- But bags of bones seem so unsafe
- Jasper: It's semi-serious
- All: Spooky scary skeletons
- Munch: Are silly all the same
- All: They'll smile and scrabble slowly by
- Munch: And drive you so insane
- All: Sticks and stones will break your bones
- They seldom let you snooze
- Spooky scary skeletons
- Will wake... you... with... a... BOO!
(They finish their dance as the song ends; they all laugh.)
- Sam: The dance worked! I'm not scared anymore, Munch!
- Pia: Yeah, me neither! I feel so silly!
- Chuck E.: Now that we're all silly and not scared, I say we keep on getting corny!
(They all laugh.)
- Pasqually: Corny... (gigggles) I get it...!
(And with that, they go on their way. Suddenly, hooting is heard.)
- Jasper: Uh... what was that?
(More hooting; Chuck E. notices.)
- Chuck E.: It's okay, Jasper. It's just an owl, and he's saying hello.
(The owl is in the tree nearby.)
- Jasper: Oh! I see! That's not so scary!
(Screeching is heard; this startles him and Pasqually.)
- Jasper: Oh, no! Another sound!
- Pasqually: It's gonna get us!
- Chuck E.: Aw, don't worry. Those are just some bats.
(They are flying overhead.)
- Pasqually: Whoa... those are strange creatures!
- Jasper: They sure look awfully strange. And a bit scary if you ask me.
(An ominous howl is heard; startling everyone as they yell.)
- Helen: What was that!!??
(More howling.)
- Munch: That's a really scary sound!
- Chuck E.: It sure is! Maybe it's Mrs. Hendrick's dog, Skippy. He must be howling at the moon. Come on, guys, we're almost out!
(More howling; they all stay put in fear.)
- Chuck E.: Um, guys?
- Jasper: Go on without us, Chuck E.! I'm scared!
- Helen: I'm scared, too!
- Charlie: We're all scared, Chuck E.!
(The kids all voice cries of fear.)
- Chuck E.: Looks like we'd better get silly again, folks. Maybe even sillier than before!
- Munch: I say we do another skeleton dance, what do you guys think?
(They all giggle and voice approving comments.)
- Matt: Yeah! Munch's dance helped us last time, so another dance would help us again!
- Chuck E.: That's right, Matt! Can I lead the dance this time, Munch?
- Munch: Sure, Chuck E.! What did you have in mind?
(Music to "Dem Bones" starts.)
- Chuck E.: Well, I was thinking of a dance where skeletons show off all their different types of bones. The types of bones that help them move, and the bones that are in all of us!
(They all laugh and cheer.)
- Chuck E.: Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- This is how it goes
- Chuck E. and the kids: Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- This is how it goes
- Chuck E.: Okay, here we go! You do what I do!
(As they get through the cornfield, they touch each respective area where that bone is.)
- Chuck E.: Your toe bone connected to the, foot bone
- Your foot bone connected to the, heel bone
- Your heel bone connected to the, ankle bone
- Your ankle bone connected to the shin bone
- Helen: Your shin bone connected to the, knee bone
- Your knee bone connected to the, thigh bone
- Your thigh bone connected to the, hip bone
- Your hip bone connected to the, back bone
- Chuck E.: (spoken:) Your back bone connected to the, shoulder bone
- Your shoulder bone connected to the, neck bone
- Your neck bone connected to the, head bone
- And that's the way it goes!
- All: Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- From our heads down to our toes
- Chuck E.: Now let's go backwards! Ready?
- Your head bone connected from your, neck bone
- Your neck bone connected from your, shoulder bone
- Your shoulder bone connected from your, back bone
- Your back bone connected from your, hip bone
- Helen: Your hip bone connected from your, thigh bone
- Your thigh bone connected from your, knee bone
- Your knee bone connected from your, shin bone
- Your shin bone connected from your, ankle bone
- Chuck E.: (spoken:) Your ankle bone connected from your, foot bone
- Your foot bone connected from your, heel bone
- Your heel bone connected from your, toe bone
- And that's the way it goes!
- All: Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- Dem bones, dem bones, gonna walk around
- From our heads down to our toes
- Chuck E.: One more time, now!
- All: Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones
- And that is how it goes
- That is how it goes
- That... is... how... it... goes!
(Song ends as they make it out of the cornfield; they all laugh and cheer.)
- Helen: We made it through the cornfield!
- Jasper: And I wasn't scared one bit!
- Chuck E.: Good bone-dancing, everyone!
- Munch: And look!
(Nearby is Mrs. Hendricks with Skippy on the bench; Skippy is howling.)
- All: It was Skippy!
- Chuck E.: Hi, Mrs. Hendricks! See you at the party!
- Mrs. Hendricks: I'll see you there too, Chuck E.!
(The kids leave and head off.)
- Chuck E.: See, guys? That wasn't anything to be afraid of.
- Helen: I'm glad we didn't get scared, Chuck E. I love it when you help us be brave.
- Chuck E.: Aw, thanks, Helen.
- Charlie: But we're not done yet, Chuck E. -- we still have to go through that haunted house!
- Matt: Yeah! It's the biggest haunted house in town! They set it up in the park just directly before Chuck E. Cheese's!
- Spencer: And they close off the roads behind it, so you'll have to go through it on foot!
- Pasqually: Speaking of haunted house, isn't that a haunted house right there?
(They all stop and gasp. Cuts to behind them and pans upward to reveal the big haunted house, all rickety and old as it appears. They voice astonishing comments; Chuck E. begins to shiver a bit.)
- Megan: That must be it! The haunted house!
- Jasper: You've got that right, Megan. We'll have to go through it to get to the party.
- Chuck E.: Whoa... I've never seen a haunted house like this before. It's so big, and old, and full of strange things... and really, really, scary...!
- Helen: Don't worry, Chuck E. I've been in some haunted houses, before. They're supposed to be scary like that.
- Pia: Yeah! We'll all go through it together. And we'll stick by you the whole time, we promise.
- Munch: Okay! This way, kids!
(They all hurry after Munch to the front door; Chuck E. stays behind.)
- Munch: Come on, Chuck E.! What are you waiting for?!
- Chuck E.: Oh! Uh... okay, then.
(He shudders a bit and makes his way to the front door. He and Munch go inside, and the door closes. Cuts to the old living room as they enter; it is dark with ominous green lighting, and the floors make squeaky sounds as they walk across. There are cobwebs all over the place, the fireplace is not lit, and ominous noises are heard all over the place.)
- Jasper: Boy, this haunted house sure is scary!
- David: I have to agree. It's the scariest haunted house I've seen!
- Brandon: But I'm not scared!
- Jessica: Me neither!
- Charlie: Yeah! We can make it through and get to the party in no time! Right, Chuck E.?
(Chuck E. starts whimpering and shuddering; all stare at him.)
- Charlie: Chuck E.?
- Helen: Chuck E., are you okay?
(More shudders and whimpers, and some teeth chattering; it takes a few seconds to get the words out.)
- Chuck E.: Um...guys...?
- Jasper: What's the matter, Chuck E.?
- Chuck E.: Remember how I said earlier about helping you guys not feel scared?
- Jasper: Yeah?
- Chuck E.: Well...um...
(A loud gulp...)
- Chuck E.: I'M SCARED!!!
(He whines loudly; all voice worrying comments.)
- Helen: Oh, no!
- Munch: Uh-oh!
- Jasper: What'll we do?!!
(Chuck E. whines more and clings right to Helen, crying into her feathers.)
- Charlie: I know! Chuck E.'s helped us not feel scared, so we should help him not feel scared, too!
- Toby: Yeah!
- Chuck E.: I don't know, guys...!
(Music to "Scary" starts.)
- Chuck E.: It feels so creepy and crowded and dark
- I've found their bite much worse than their bark
- There's just no way for me to go on
- And that's why I'm really scared
- 'Cause it's scary, really scary
- There's no way I can handle this
- It's so scary, yes, it's scary
- It's hard to get down to the bottom of it...!
(He whimpers and covers his eyes.)
- Helen: Aww, it's okay, Chuck E., everyone gets scared sometimes. It's a part of life.
- Charlie: Yeah. Even if you're scared of some things, it's good to let it all out.
- Jasper: And besides, you've got us to help you.
- Helen: There's no need to be worried or sad
- Munch: We're here to help you get through all the bad
- Jasper: Whenever we're scared, we deserve a good laugh
- All but Chuck E.: We're all here to help you, we say
- When it's scary, so scary
- Calm down and you'll feel better soon
- Yes, it's scary, really scary
- But not as it seems by the light of the moon
- Chuck E.: You're right! There is a way for me to not feel scared! First I have to calm myself down and think. Then I can get silly with you, and you can stay with me in case I get scared again!
- Munch: That's it, Chuck E.!
- Jasper: Go for it!
- Chuck E.: I'm happy you're all here to help me
- To help chase away all my fears
- So I'd better relax and breathe deeply (inhales)
- And focus on whom I have near
- I close my eyes and count to 5
- Let all the scary go out (exhales)
- Now I don't feel so scared
- Time to get silly without a doubt!
(He does a very silly dance; everyone laughs, and they all dance with him as they make their way through the various spooky rooms.)
- All: 'Cause it's scary, so scary
- But it's not as bad as it seems
- Yes, it's scary, really scary
- But we're happy to say
- Chuck E.: You all helped me, hooray
- All: All because we're quite a spooky team!
(Song ends and they laugh; they come to an empty dance hall.)
- Chuck E.: Thank you, guys! I'm not scared anymore! I'm having fun! (laughs loudly)
(A deep laughter is heard, startling them.)
- Pia: What was that???
- Helen: It sounds like... someone's here.
(Footsteps are heard.)
- Charlie: I don't think we're the only ones in here, guys.
- Chuck E.: Yeah. It must be...
- All: MONSTERS!!!
(Out of the door at the far end emerge three men dressed as famous monsters; one as Frankenstein's Monster, one as the Wolfman, and one as the Mummy. They all crowd around as the monsters approach them slowly... then they smile.)
- Monsters: Hello, friends!
- All: Huh???
- Jasper: Uh, you're not gonna go all slasher and eat us alive, are ya?
- Mummy: What? Nooo, no. We're friendly monsters.
- Frankenstein: We've been hearing you were helping each other not feel scared.
- Wolfman: Yeah, everyone gets scared sometimes, and it's good to overcome it.
- Mummy: So we thought we'd have some fun with you to make it not as scary.
- Chuck E.: Hey! How about we do a monster dance together?
(They all cheer and voice approving comments; music to "The Monster's Hop" starts as the monsters dance in time, and Chuck E. and the gang join in with them.)
- Chuck E.: Come on, guys! Let's all dance like monsters!
- Munch: Rawr! Give yourselves a fright!
- Pasqually: A fun one, that is! (giggles)
- Chuck E.: Heard strange noises coming from a house on the hill
- So I crept up to the window and looked over the sill
- My heart almost stopped, I nearly died of fright
- By the dim candlelight, I saw the strangest sight
All: There was Frankenstein and Dracula and Wolfman, too
- Dancin' with some zombies, what a ghastly crew
- The old other vampire was doing the bop
- And everything was rocking at the monster's hop
(All do scary noises.)
- Munch: The bats were flying, and the room was full
- Jasper: The crazy witch doctor was dancing with a ghoul
- Pasqually: The organ was playing, but no one was there
- Helen: And the headless horseman was combing his hair
- All: There was Frankenstein and Dracula and Wolfman, too
- Dancin' with some zombies, what a ghastly crew
- The old other vampire was doing the bop
- And everything was rocking at the monster's hop
(More scary noises and laughter.)
- Jasper: I can't forget that empty house upon the hill
- The night I saw the monsters dance, and ooh what a thrill?
- Chuck E.: The wind did howl, the night was black
- I nearly lost my mind, I'm never, ever going back
- All: There was Frankenstein and Dracula and Wolfman, too
- Dancin' with some zombies, what a ghastly crew
- The old other vampire was doing the bop
- And everything was rocking at the monster's hop
(They finish their dance with a spooky laughter and cheer; song ends.)
- Frankenstein: That was some great dancing, everyone! And nobody got scared!
- Chuck E.: Yeah! And thanks to you friendly monsters, and all of my friends, I'm not scared of the haunted house anymore!
- Jasper: Now all we just gotta do is get outta here and make our way to Chuck E. Cheese's!
- Wolfman: You can exit through the back door right there. Then it's smooth sailin' to your party!
- Chuck E.: All right! Thank you, friendly monsters!
(They all leave through the back door and voice their thank yous; music to "Nothing to Be Afraid Of" starts.)
- Mummy: Take care, kids! Happy Halloween!
(They all leave the haunted house.)
- All: There was nothing to be afraid of
- Not as scary as it seems
- There was no need to be scared of
- What stood in-between
- Halloween is supposed to be scary,
- Full of tricks and treats galore
- Strange things out all over the place
- There may be lots of more
- Chuck E.: But even though it's okay to be afraid
- We knew how to chase our boos away
- Helen: We stick by each other and get silly, too
- All: We know this by heart, and it may happen to you
(Chuck E. Cheese's is ahead; they reach it.)
- All: There was nothing to be afraid of
- Although it's strange as it appears
- Now we're brave again, though getting scared is fun
- For every single Halloween throughout the years!
(Song ends and they cheer; they enter the restaurant. Inside, the Halloween party is well underway. Costumed kids and their parents are all congregating, and a live band is performing on the MMBB stage. Our party is astounded.)
- Chuck E.: We made it!
- Charlie: Wow, what a party!
- Sophie: Look, there's Mrs. Hendricks!
(Mrs. Hendricks is at one of the tables having pizza.)
- Mrs. Hendricks: Why, hello, dears!
- William: Look, there's Mrs. Miller over there! And she's got a cauldron!
(Mrs. Miller has a cauldron set up near the whac-a-mole.)
- Mrs. Miller: Hi, everyone!
(Larry comes right up to her.)
- Larry: Ho, ho, ho! Sorry if it's a little early!
(Mrs. Miller laughs; so does our party, with Chuck E. taking a while to die down.)
- Chuck E.: I guess Larry's havin' a good time already.
- Voices: So are we!
(This startles not just them, but everyone in the whole restaurant! Silence for a few moments.)
- Charlie: What was that??!!
(A few more seconds of silence...then Chuck E. laughs.)
- Chuck E.: Relax, everyone! It's just our monster friends from the haunted house!
(And indeed it is; they are showing off their moves in the showroom.)
- William: Yeah! They wanna join the party, too!
- Frankenstein: Who knows Halloween parties...
- Mummy: When you can monster mash at them?!
- Wolfman: Come on, and let's bust a move!
(Everyone in the restaurant cheers.)
- Helen: Looks like they want us to join them!
- Chuck E.: Well, what are we waiting for??!! LET'S PARTY!!!
(Everyone cheers loudly and happily. Music to "Monster Mash" starts as the band starts performing and Munch starts off.)
- Munch: I was working in the lab late one night
- When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
- For my monster from his slab began to rise
- And suddenly to my surprise
- All: He did the mash

- Helen: And we went through the cornfield!
- Munch: And did silly dances!
- Pasqually: And we saw a haunted house!

- All: HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE!!!
(They all cheer and continue dancing and partying from there, ending the show.)
(End credits.)
