(The opening starts with a bus driving down several streets to a countryside.)
- Charlie: Are we there yet?
- Chuck E.: Not yet, Charlie. We'll be there.
- Munch: Are we there, yet?
- Jasper: No, Munch! Not yet!
(Cuts to inside the bus; Pasqually is driving, with Chuck E., Helen, Munch, and Jasper sitting in the seats; Charlie is in Chuck E.'s seat, and the following kids are also on board: Abby, Pia, Brandon, David, Katie, Tiffany, Megan, William, and Matt. They are all dressed in outdoor gear and have camping equipment stashed in the unoccupied seats.)
- Munch: Sorry, I just can't wait until we get to the campgrounds.
(Chuck E. notices the viewer.)
- Chuck E.: Oh, hey there! Guess what? Today, we're going camping!
- Pasqually: Out in the great outdoors! Heeheeheeheehee!
- Helen: We're gonna spend a whole night outside in nature!
- Charlie: And there's be lots of neat stuff, like... like setting up tents!
- Chuck E.: And having a fire!
- Jasper: And roasting marshmallows!
- Helen: And hiking!
- Munch: And fishing!
- Pasqually: And telling campfire stories! Wait'll I tell you the one where I once caught that heavy tuna!
- Katie: I can't wait 'til we get to the campsite, Chuck E.!
- Charlie: Me neither! This is my first campout, ever! I never slept outside before!
- Chuck E.: Well, you're gonna love it, Charlie! This is gonna be the greatest campout we ever had!
(Music to A-Camping We Will Go starts; the bus continues driving as they sing.)
- All: A-camping we will go,
- A-camping we will go,
- Hi-ho the derry-oh,
- A-camping we will go!
- Jasper: Hey!
- Chuck E.: We're going camping tonight
- It's gonna be a great sight
- We'll have the greatest time outdoors,
- When we go camping tonight
- All: A-camping we will go,
- A-camping we will go,
- Hi-ho the derry-oh,
- A-camping we will go!
- Jasper: Through the woods we'll roam
- Far away from home
- And maybe we might meet Bigfoot
- When in the woods we roam
- All others: BIGFOOT?
- Chuck E.: Why do you wanna look for Bigfoot?
- Helen: Yeah, he's just a myth. No one's ever see him, you know.
- Jasper: Well, I'm gonna prove it to ya! Tonight, I'm gonna catch Bigfoot! You'll see!
- Munch and Pasqually: Oh, boy...
- Chuck E.: Typical Jasper...
(Now the bus is in the countryside.)
- Jasper: No doubting, everyone! I'll prove it! If I can...
- Helen: When we get to the woods, I'll agree!
- Camping's the best place to be!
- We all are excited.
- For adventure, you and me!
- All: A-camping we will go,
- A-camping we will go,
- Hi-ho the derry-oh,
- A-camping we will go!
(They drive into the campsite.)
- All: Hi-ho the derry-oh,
- A-camping...we...will...go!!!
(Song ends as the bus parks; they all cheer as they come off.)
- Chuck E.: We're here!
(Random cheers from the children; they all get out their outdoor gear and haul it to an open space.)
- Helen: This looks like a great spot!
- Munch: Yeah! My tent should go here... and Jasper's should go there... or maybe over there...
- Pasqually: Hey, I've found a perfect spot to put our campfire!
- Jasper: Yeah! All we need is some firewood to light it!
- Tiffany: Are we gonna sing campfire songs?
- Brandon: And go hiking?
- Pia: And roast marshmallows, too?
- Chuck E.: Not yet, Pia. First thing we gotta do is set up our campsite. We gotta pitch our tents, and gather firewood, and prepare all the essentials, like food and water and a hammock...
- Helen: Here's some picnic tables nearby! We can put our food here!
- Munch: Why don't we split up? Jasper, Pasqually, and I are gonna find some firewood. Chuck E., you and Miss Helen stay here and pitch the tents.
- Charlie: Can I help you guys pitch?
- Helen: Why sure! Brandon, Pia, Katie, Megan, you guys can help, too.
- Megan: Awesome!
- Chuck E.: Matt, Abby, William, Tiffany and David, you go with Jasper and find the firewood.
- Matt: Yes!
- Jasper: Hopefully we won't run into Bigfoot out there!
- Munch: Jasper, there's no such thing as Bigfoot!
- Jasper: And I say there is, you'll see!
(Music to "Oh! Susanna" starts; Jasper's crew is gathering the firewood.)
- Jasper: I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee,
- I'm goin' to Louisiana, my Susanna for to see
- Jasper and the kids: Oh! Susanna, oh, don't you cry for me
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
(At the campsite, Chuck E. and Helen's crew is pitching the tents and filling out the tables.)
- Chuck E.: It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry
- Helen: The sun so hot, I froze to death, Susanna, don't you cry
- Chuck E., Helen, and the kids: Oh! Susanna, oh, don't you cry for me
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
(Jasper's team comes back with the firewood.)
- Abby: We've got the firewood!
- Jasper: But no Bigfoot. So far.
- Chuck E.: Awesome! Put it over here.
(More preparations.)
- Munch: I had a dream the other night when everything was still,
- I thought I saw Susanna comin' up the hill
- Pasqually: A buckwheat cake was in her mouth, a tear was in her eye
- Jasper: Says I'm coming from the south, Susanna don’t you cry
- All: Oh! Susanna, oh, don't you cry for me
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
(The campsite is finished.)
- All: Oh! Susanna, oh, don't you cry for me
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee
- 'Cuz I've come from Alabama with my banjo... on... my... knee
(Song ends as they cheer.)
- Jasper: The campsite is ready!
- Abby: Now we're ready to do camping activities!
- Charlie: Chuck E., what do you think we should do first?
- Matt: I wanna go fishing. I hope I catch a big one!
- Tiffany: Me too! I'm gonna catch myself a trout for the fire!
- Chuck E.: Hey, great idea! Let's get our fishing rods and go on a hike out to the water hole!
- Kids: YEAH!!!
(They all grab their lines.)
- Munch: Follow me, everybody! I know a shortcut to the water hole through these trees!
(They all cheer and follow Munch; music to "The Caissons Go Rolling Along" starts.)
- All: Over hill, over dale
- We have hit the dusty trail
- And the caissons go rolling along
- In and out, hear them shout,
- Counter march and right about,
- And the caissons go rolling along
- Then it's Hi! Hi! Hee!
- In the field artillery,
- Shout out your numbers loud and strong (Two! Three! Four!)
- For where e're you go,
- You will always know
- That those caissons go rolling along.
- Down the path through the trees,
- Where the branches show their leaves,
- And the caissons go rolling along
- To the left, to the right,
- High and low, there's such a sight,
- And the caissons go rolling along
- Then it's Hi! Hi! Hee!
- In the field artillery,
- Shout out your numbers loud and strong (Two! Three! Four!)
- For where e're you go,
- You will always know
- That those caissons go rolling along
- That those caissons go rolling along
- That those cais-...sons are roll-...ing... along...!
(Song ends as they reach the water hole.)
- Jasper: Okay, everybody! Grab a fishin' line, find a good spot to cast, and let's all go fishin'!
(Music to "Fishin' Blues" starts; they all go fishing and catching for fish.)
- Jasper: Bet ya goin' fishing all of the time
- Baby goin' fishing too
- Bet your life, your sweet wife
- Will catch more fish than you
- Many fish bites if you got good bait
- Here's a little tip that I would like to relate
- All: Many fish bites if you got good bait
- I'm a goin' fishing, yes I'm goin' fishing
- And my baby goin' fishing too
- Jasper: I went on down to my favorite fishing hole
- Baby grabbed me a pole and a line
- Throwed my pole on in, caught a nine pound catfish
- You know I brought him home for supper time
- Proving any fish bites if you got good bait
- Here's a little tip that I would like to relate
- All: Many fish bites if you've got good bait
- I'm a goin' fishing, yes I'm goin' fishing
- And my baby goin' fishin' too
- Jasper: Baby brother 'bout to run me up out of my mind
- Saying, "Can I go fishin' with you?"
- I took him on down to the fishin' hole
- Now, what do you think that he did do?
- Pulled a great big fish out the bottom of the pond
- Now he laughed and jumped cause he was real gone
- All: Many fish bites if you've got good bait
- I'm a goin' fishing, yes I'm goin' fishing
- And my baby goin' fishin' too
- Jasper: Put him in the pot baby, put him in the pan
- Honey, cook him 'til he's nice and brown
- Make a batch of buttermilk hoecakes Mama
- And you chew them things and you chomp 'em on down
- Singing any fish bites if you got good bait
- Here's a little tip that I would like to relate
- All: Many fish bites if you got good bait
- I'm a going fishin', yes I'm goin' fishing
- And my baby going fishin' too
- Jasper: Play the blues!
- Matt: Look, Pasqually! I caught a big tuna!
- Pasqually: Hey, so did I!
- Tiffany: I caught the trout I wanted to catch!
- Helen: I love fishing!
- Charlie: I love fishing, too!
- Chuck E.: (giggles) So do I!
- Kids: We all love fishing! (they laugh)
- All: Bet you're goin' fishing all of the time
- Baby goin' fishing too
- Bet your life, your sweet wife
- She going to catch more fish than you
- Many fish bites if you got good bait
- Oh, here's a little tip that I would like to relate
- Many fish bites if you got good bait
- I'm a goin' fishing, mama's going fishing
- And the baby goin' fishing too
(Song ends.)
- Chuck E.: Hey, look at this fish I got here, it's a salmon.
- David: Can we use them for our fire?
- Chuck E.: Why sure we can, David! We can use all the fish we caught!
- Helen: Hey, Chuck E.? You wanna take a hike with me through the woods? There's something special I wanna show you.
- Chuck E.: Oh, well of course, Helen! I'd do anything for a special friend like you.
- Charlie: What is it, Helen?
- Helen: Well, you'd have to hike with us to find out.
- Munch: You kids go on with Chuck E. and Miss Helen, we'll stay here and catch more fish.
- Jasper: Hopefully this will get my mind focused if I wanna meet Bigfoot.
- Pasqually: Do you have to bring up this Bigfoot nonsense again?!?!
- Jasper: You're just skeptic.
- Chuck E.: Okay, kids! This way through the woods! I've got the perfect hiking song! You can sing along, too. Let's hike!
- Kids: YEAH!!!
(Charlie and the kids follow Chuck E. and Helen; music to "The Happy Wanderer" starts.)
- All: I love to go a-wandering,
- Along the mountain track
- And as I go, I love to sing,
- My knapsack on my back
- Valderi, valdera
- Valderi,
- Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
- Valderi, valdera
- My knapsack on my back
- Helen: I love to wander by the stream
- That dances in the sun
- Chuck E. and the kids: So joyously it calls to me,
- "Come! Join my happy song!"
- All: Valderi, valdera
- Valderi,
- Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
- Valderi, valdera
- My knapsack on my back
- Chuck E.: I wave my hat to all I meet,
- And they wave back to me,
- Charlie: And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
- From ev'ry green wood tree
- All: Valderi, valdera
- Valderi,
- Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
- Valderi, valdera
- My knapsack on my back
- Chuck E. and Helen: High overhead, the skylarks wing,
- They never rest at home
- But just like me, they love to sing,
- As o'er the world we roam
- All: Valderi, valdera
- Valderi,
- Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
- Valderi, valdera
- My knapsack on my back
- O may I go a-wandering
- Until the day I die
- And may we always laugh and sing
- Beneath the clear blue sky
- Valderi, valdera
- Valderi,
- Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
- Valderi, valdera
- My knapsack on my back
(Song ends as they all laugh. Suddenly...)
- Charlie: OW!
(They all stop and voice worrying comments.)
- Helen: Are you all right, Charlie?
- Charlie: I think I just got a bug bite.
- William: I feel I've got one too! It's on my arm!
- Megan: I've got bitten on the leg.
- Katie: There's bugs all over the place!
- Helen: Katie's right, Chuck E.! These woods are full of flies and bugs and who-knows-what! We'd better find some way to protect ourselves.
- Brandon: I've got some bug spray.
- Chuck E.: Nice thinking, Brandon! A good camper is always prepared. Let's spray ourselves up!
(Music to "There Ain't No Flies on Me" starts as they all spray themselves.)
- All: Oh, there ain't no flies on me (On me)
- There ain't no flies on me
- There may be flies on some of you guys
- But there ain't no flies on me
- Chuck E. and Charlie: Well, the Juney bug comes in the month of June
- The lightning bug comes in May
- Bedbug comes just any old time
- But they're not going to stay
- All: Oh, there ain't no flies on me (On me)
- There ain't no flies on me
- There may be flies on some of you guys

- All: Oh, there ain't no flies on me (On me)
- There ain't no flies on me
- There may be flies on some of you guys
But there ain't no flies on me
- Chuck E. and the boys: Well, little bugs have littler bugs
- Upon their backs to bite 'em
- And littler bugs have still littler bugs
- And so ad infinitum
- All: Oh, there ain't no flies on me (On me)
- There ain't no flies on me
- There may be flies on some of you guys
- But there ain't no flies on me
- There ain't no flies on me! NO!
(Song ends.)

(They continue on until they come to an enormous oak tree.)
- Kids: (astounded comments)
- Chuck E.: Helen, this tree is beautiful!
- Charlie: It's the perfect relaxation spot!

(Song ends as they all cheer.)
- Abby: This is the prettiest tree I have ever seen!
(She runs around to the other side; suddenly, we hear a trapping sound as she screams.)
- All others: ABBY!!
(They all voice worrying comments as they run to the other side; Abby is trapped in a net.)
- Charlie: Abby, how'd you get in there?
- Abby: I don't know! I was just running and all of a sudden, I'm stuck in a net!
- Chuck E.: Don't worry, Abby, we'll get you down! I just have to find a way to -- (He too gets trapped.) WHOA!!
- Helen: CHUCK E.!!!
(Here comes Jasper.)
- Jasper: I can't believe it! My Bigfoot traps worked!
- Chuck E.: Jasper, what did you do?
- Jasper: Well, Chuck, I set up nets all over this part of the tree in case Bigfoot shows up. Also, I used berries as the bait 'cause I know he loves berries!
- Chuck E.: Again with all this Bigfoot nonsense!!!!
- William: Jasper, everyone knows that Bigfoot isn't real. He's just a legend that people believe.
- Matt: Yeah, and there's no such thing as him.
- Megan: If you think Bigfoot is real, how come you've never seen him?
- Jasper: I don't need to see Bigfoot to believe in him. It's how I choose!
- Helen: I see what you mean, Jasper. Now can you please get Chuck E. and Abby down?
- Chuck E.: Yeah, hurry up! We should be getting back to the campsite right now!
- Jasper: (sighs) Okay, I'll get you down. But I'm resetting the traps!
(He proceeds to free them. Changes back to the campsite as they make their return.)
- Chuck E.: I did NOT like being a trapped mouse.
- Abby: It's like The Lion and the Mouse but in reverse!
- Brandon: Well, at least you two are out of those nets.
- Charlie: If he mentions Bigfoot again, so help me...
- Chuck E.: (sniffs the air) Hey, something smells good.
(They all sniff with him.)
- Tiffany: I smell it, too! It's hot dogs!

- Chuck E., Jasper, and Helen: Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
- Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

- To the place I belong
- West Virginia, Mountain mama
- Take me home, country roads
- Chuck E.: I hear her voice in the morning hours, she calls me
- Chuck E. and the kids: The radio reminds me of my home far away
- Jasper: And driving down the road, I get a feeling
- That I should have been home yesterday

- Take me home...
- Country roads!
(Song ends as they all cheer.)
- Chuck E.: How's your marshmallow, Charlie?
- Charlie: It's really good!
- Tiffany: I'm roasting trout!
- David: I'm roasting salmon!
- Brandon: I'm roasting salmon and trout with marshmallow in between!
(All laugh.)
- Pasqually: Hey, I've got a joke! Why did the tree have so many friends?
(All voice confused comments.)
- Chuck E.: I give up, Pasqually. Why did the tree have so many friends?
- Pasqually: Because he liked to branch out! (laughs) Get it? "Branch" out?
(All but Jasper laughs.)
- Jasper: Oh, brother.
- Helen: Okay, is everybody ready for a campfire song?
- All others: YEAH!!!
- Munch: Oh! I've got a great song, and I want all of you to sing along to it!
(They all give approving comments.)
- Munch: You can sing along, too!
- Chuck E.: Jasper, will you give us a beat?
- Jasper: You've got it, Chuckarooni!
(He starts strumming his guitar; music to "Camptown Races" starts.)
- Munch: Camptown ladies sing their song
- All: Doo-dah! Doo-dah!
- Munch: Camptown race track's five miles long
- All: Oh, doo-dah day!
- Munch: Everybody!
- All: Gonna run all night
- Gonna run all day
- Bet my money on the bob-tail nag
- Somebody bet on the bay
- Pasqually: Hey, Munch! Mind if I take a verse?
- Munch: Not at all, Pasqually, go for it!
- Pasqually: Come down here with my hat caved in
- Doo-dah! Doo-dah!
- Go back home with a pocket full of tin,
- Oh, doo-dah day!
- All: Gonna run all night
- Gonna run all day
- Bet my money on the bob-tail nag
- Somebody bet on the bay
- Somebody bet on the bay, hey!
(Song ends; they all cheer.)
- Chuck E.: Great song, Munch! I love it!
- Munch: Thanks, Chuck E.! Now who here has a campfire story to tell?
- Jasper: (Stands up) I've got one! And it's about... Bigfoot.
(They all gasp.)
- Charlie: Here we go again...
- Jasper: And I'm gonna make sure all of you believe me! Now listen up!
(He strums his guitar again; music to "Watch Out For Bigfoot" starts.)
- Jasper: Deep out in the forest amongst the southern fields
- Lived a big old hairy monster whom no one has appeal
- His name is Bigfoot, named for his big bare feet
- He stomps around the camping grounds, now don't you be discreet!
(Brief guitar solo)
- He hides amongst the trees so high and yet you all have doubts
- But there's only a matter of time until he does come out
- You better be on the lookout, there's no telling if he'll be near
- Not making this up, I cannot lie, real soon he will be here
- So watch out for Bigfoot, the monster of all retreats
- Yes, watch out for Bigfoot, trust me, don't make me repeat
- He's big and he's brown, and he won't fit your shoes
- This will be a moment that we all can't lose
- I'm telling the truth, oh yes, I'm sure I'm right
- It won't be long until Bigfoot is coming tonight!
- Bigfoot is coming tonight!
- Bigfoot is coming tonight!
- Watch out!
(Song ends.)
- Abby: Jasper, no matter how many times you claim to find Bigfoot, I highly doubt he will appear.
- Pia: Yeah, there's no such thing as Bigfoot, as we repeat.
- All but Jasper: There's no such thing as Bigfoot, Jasper!
- Jasper: You may have your doubts, but I still want to see him! You'll all see!
- Chuck E.: Oh, Jasper... (yawns) I think we should turn in. Night, guys.
(They all voice "good night" and put out the fire and head for their tents; only Jasper stays out. Later that night...)
- Jasper: (scoffs) "There's no such thing as Bigfoot!"... Oh, I'll show 'em! I will show 'em! Bigfoot is real, they just don't know it yet!
(A noise is heard in the distance, startling him.)
- Jasper: What was that?
(He curiously tiptoes out of the campsite; changes to the big oak tree where he finds a trail of footprints in place of the berry trail, leading directly to it.)
- Jasper: No way...
(A loud grumble is heard, and he looks up, but not seeing where he's going.)
- Jasper: Bigfoot? Is that really you -- WHOA!!!
(He ends up getting caught in one of the net traps.)
- Jasper: Aw, man! HELLLLLLP!!!!!!
(Cuts to inside one of the tents back at the campsite; Chuck E. is fast asleep in his sleeping bag, Charlie and Abby accompany him.)
- Jasper: HELP, CHUCK E.!!!!!!!
- Chuck E.: (wakes up) Hmm...? Jasper...?
(Charlie and Abby wake up too; everyone emerges from their tents.)
- Munch: What was that?
- Megan: I thought I just heard Jasper calling for help.
- Katie: Me too. I hope he's okay.
- Jasper: I'M NOT OKAY, HELP!!!!!!!!!!
- Helen: Oh, no! He must be in trouble!
- Charlie: (points in the direction of the oak tree) It's coming from that way!
- Helen: That must be where the oak tree is!
- Chuck E.: Come on, everybody!
(They all hurry down the path, flashlights and lanterns in hand.)
- Jasper: HELP ME! HURRY!!!!!!!!
(It isn't long until they notice the big footprints.)
- Chuck E.: Jasper? Are you okay? Don't joke on us, now!
- Pia: Hey, look at these footprints!
- Helen: I never seen these before.
- Pasqually: They look really big!
(They reach the tree.)
- Chuck E.: Jasper? Where are you?
- Jasper: I'M UP HERE!!!!!!
(They look up and see him trapped.)
- Chuck E.: Aw, there you are, Jasper! How'd you get in there?
- Jasper: Forget about that! Look who's in the net right next to me!
(Another loud grumble; they all look toward the second net. Inside is a very hairy creature with humongous feet.)
- Munch: Whoa, look at the size of that thing!
- William: Yeah! It's all brown and hairy and smelly...
- Tiffany: And he's got big, hairy feet!
- Helen: It's...it's...it's...!!
- All but Jasper: BIGFOOT!
(Bigfoot roars.)
- Chuck E.: I-I-I can't believe this! He IS real!
- Jasper: See? I told you.
(Bigfoot grumbles again before attempting to talk.)
- Bigfoot: Bigfoot...trapped!
- Matt: Hey, he can talk!
- Chuck E.: Hello, Bigfoot. Jasper didn't mean to trap you. We didn't believe you existed. I'm Chuck E. Cheese, and these are all my friends.
- Bigfoot: Chuck E. Cheese... and friends?
- Helen: Yeah! We own this amazing place called Chuck E. Cheese's. You should come there sometime.
- Bigfoot: But... Bigfoot scared! Bigfoot not have any friends!
- Jasper: Well, we can all be your friends, just as soon as someone gets us outta here!
- Chuck E.: Stand back, everybody!
(He gets out some scissors and cuts the nets, freeing them.)
- Jasper: Whoa!
- Chuck E.: There you go. Come back to the campsite with us, Bigfoot! Maybe you can have fun with us!
- Bigfoot: But Bigfoot... doesn't know how to make friends! How Bigfoot start?
- Helen: Starting is easy. You just have to hang out with us, and play with us.
- All: Yeah! We'll all be friends with you!
(Music to "We Can Be Friends" starts; they head back to the campsite with Bigfoot following.)
- Chuck E.: When you feel alone and don't know what to do,
- Here's a little word of advice just for you

(He gives them all a big hug and they all voice uncomfortable but exciting comments.)
- Charlie: This was the best campout ever! We went hiking...
- Pasqually: We went fishing...
- Helen: We saw the prettiest oak tree...
- Munch: We had a tasty barbecue...
- Chuck E.: We roasted marshmallows and sung a campfire song...
- Jasper: And we got to meet Bigfoot! What a fun night!
- Matt: We're sorry we didn't believe you, Jasper.
- Pia: From now on, we'll always believe what you say.
- Abby: And thank you for saving me and Chuck E. from the nets, Jasper. You're a great friend.
- Jasper: Aw, you're welcome!
- All but Chuck E.: Thank you, Chuck E.!
- Bigfoot: Bigfoot says... thank you, Chuck E.!
- Chuck E.: You're welcome, guys! And thank you for coming on our camping trip! It was so much fun!
(All cheer.)
- All: We can be friends, we'll stick through thick and thin
- We won't leave anyone behind, 'cause friendship always wins
- Life is so much better whenever we're together
- Bigfoot: Bigfoot has friends!
- All: We'll be together forever, 'cause we can be friends!
(Song ends and they all cheer.)
- Chuck E.: See you next time, everyone!
- Bigfoot: Bye-bye!
- All: Bye!/Goodbye!
(Their goodbyes continue; pans up to the moon in the sky as the show ends.)
