Chuck E. Cheese Wiki

Snowball's Chance in Texas is a song from Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000.

While at the soda shop, while Chuck E. is in a bad mood from coming in last at the qualifiers, and following Helen's supposed betrayal to the X-Pilots and them rubbing their victory in his face, Jasper begins describing the issue to Munch and Charlie in the form of a country song.

Lyrics[]

Well, my tail got run over by pickup
I'm the lonesomest dog in town
My girlfriend left me for a basset hound...She did!
If we walked out the door today
Well, we might just save some face
We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race

A snowball's chance in Texas
In a hot El Niño summer
A snowball's chance in Texas to come in first place
If we can't reach Vega-2,
There ain't nothing we can do
We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race

Listen up, now!

I got more blue than BB
And a Rottweiler ate my lunch
Hey!
I'm scratching at the fleas I got from Munch!
Thanks a lot, buddy...
With my pity and my gloom
And that evil Dr. Zoom,
We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race

Everybody sing now!

A snowball's chance in Texas
In a hot El Niño summer
A snowball's chance in Texas to come in first place
Well, if we can't reach Vega-2,
There ain't nothing we can do
What are you smiling at?
We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race
Uh-huh
We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race

Trivia[]

  • Despite the fact the song is meant to be tragic, the music is unusually upbeat and positive-sounding, using an authentic cadence throughout. Jasper lampshades this near the end when he asks "What are you smiling at?".
  • This song happens to be a darker parallel to "The Galaxy's For You and Me". While said song was upbeat and focused on Chuck E.'s optimism at wanting to enter the race for Charlie and everyone supports him, this song is slower and more melancholic, and focuses on Chuck E.'s struggles and difficulties and what he has experienced following the loss at the qualifiers.
    • The pianist who appears during the second verse is the same one who started "The Galaxy's For You and Me" in Pasqually's diner at the end of the movie.
  • Many of Jasper's lines allude to what is happening to Chuck E. and the gang at the moment:
    • "My tail got run over by pickup." - The Songbird kept crashing at Dead Man's Canyon due to Chuck E.'s inability to handle Vega-2.
    • "I'm the lonesomest dog in town." - Chuck E. started to sink into a depression after losing the qualifying race.
    • "My girlfriend left me for a basset hound." - Chuck E. assumed Helen betrayed him for the X-Pilots.
    • "If we walked out the door today, well, we might just save some face." - Chuck E. does not take the X-Pilots' insulting well and attempts to try Vega-2 at Dead Man's Canyon alone.
    • "If we can't reach Vega-2, there ain't nothing we can do." - Chuck E.'s team won't be able to win the race if they cannot handle Vega-2.
    • "We got a snowball's chance in Texas to win this race." - Chuck E. has very little chance of winning against the X-Pilots due to having no experience at Vega-2 and will lose if he does not act up.
