Lyrics[]
All: How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Oh, yeah!)
How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Here we go, now!)
Chuck E.: I needed the shelter of someone's arms
And there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs
And there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I wanna stop...
And thank you, baby
I just wanna stop... STOP!
Thank you baby, yes I do
All: How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: That's right! (giggles))
How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Listen up, now!)
Chuck E.: I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
Chuck E. and Jasper: But you brighten up for me all of my days
Chuck E.: With love so sweet in so many ways
I wanna stop...
And thank you, baby
Chuck E. and Jasper: I just wanna stop...
Chuck E.: WHOA!
Thank you baby, yes I do
All: How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: (giggles))
How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Oh, yeah! Take it, fellas!)
(guitar solo)
Chuck E.: You were better to me than I was to myself
For me, there is you and there ain't nobody else
I wanna stop...
And thank you, baby
I just wanna stop... STOP!
Thank you baby, yes I do
All: How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Oh-ho, yeah!)
How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Oh, too true, too true! (giggles))
How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Ain't nothin' better! Yeah-heh-heh!)
How sweet it is to be loved by you
Chuck E.: Oh, yeah, yeah!
All: How sweet it is to be loved by you (Chuck E.: Here we go, take it home now, gang!)
How sweet it is to be loved by you
