Every Boy, Every Girl is an original song detailing the history of Munch's Make Believe Band. It was introduced in 1997 in honor of Chuck E. Cheese's 20th anniversary before being re-recorded for the 30th and 40th anniversaries.
Lyrics[]
Lyrics (1997)[]
Chuck E.: You know, life is like a scrapbook
Memories on every page
You look back with laughter
And you'll never feel your age
Now I've been thinking lately
And what brought us together
For this very special show
I left my home so long ago
Waved goodbye to my folks
Worked every club across New York
With cheesy songs and jokes
And then I did a show for kids
And man, did we have fun!
That was the day that changed my life
My dream had just begun!
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Should have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
Pasqually: 20 years can this be true
I guess it has to be
I sold pizza door to door, when Chuck E. came to me
He said,
Chuck E.: I need a master chef, you know, who can sing a song"
I sang out operatically, I want to come along
Chuck E.: Someone said "Go west, young mouse,"
Pasqually: And that's just where we went
Chuck E.: Off to California, though we hardly had a set
Pasqually: We found a place that was falling down
It was quite a site to see
Chuck E.: Oh yeah, it needed work, but we didn't care
We knew what it could be
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Should have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
Munch: When the place was all fixed up
I came running through the door
My oh my, that pizza pie is what I was looking for
Now Chuck, he made me a talent scout
And I travelled 'cross the land
To find 2 more musicians
To fill his all-star band.
Jasper: I was just a country dog with a cabin in the woods
Playing a guitar willowed out of a log and the job sure sounded good
Helen: I was a singer trying my wings
Barely out of the nest
When I joined up with Chuck E. Cheese
I knew I'd found the best
Chuck E.: The stage was set, the lights came down
And up the curtain flew
Pasqually: That show went great 20 years ago
Munch: And all the rest have too
Jasper: And the kids who came to see us
Now have children of their own
Helen: It's like we're all a family
And this is still your home
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Should have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They're be rocking here tomorrow like they're rocking here today.
Chuck E.: Well life is like a scrapbook (Hehe..)
Memories on every page
You look back with laughter
And you'll never feel your age
Now I've been thinking lately, about all the things we did
And we'll still be here in 20 years 'cause kids will still be kids!
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Should have a place to laugh and sing and play
Now the kids are having fun
But we've only just begun,
We'll be rocking here tomorrow like we're rocking here today. (3x)
Lyrics (2007)[]
This version has lyrics that are mostly unchanged with the exception of the references to the 20th anniversary being updated to focus on the 30th anniversary.
Lyrics (2017)[]
Chuck E.: You know, here at Chuck E. Cheese's, we're all about fun
Making memories everyday
You'll look back with laughter, and you'll never feel your age
Now I've been thinking lately, about all those years ago
And what brought us all together, for this very special show
As a younger mouse I always knew
I was meant for something more
Hopped on a bus with nothing but my dream
I was headed for New York
I found a place, that served great pizza
Ordered one with extra cheese
Made by a funny man with a mustache
His name was Pasqually
Both: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Can have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
Pasqually: My restaurant, was a-losing money
I was about to close my doors
I knew my pizza was a-really great
But my guests wanted something more
Chuck E. offered to help me out
A little mouse, what could he do?
Then he started singing
My dreams were about to come true
Chuck became our main attraction
I gave him a set of keys
Then I put his name above the door
Welcome to Chuck E. Cheese!
Chuck E.: We booked a gig in Nashville
We set out on our way
Our van broke down in front of a farm
But made a new friend that day
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Can have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
Jasper T. Jowls: I was playin’ my bass out on the porch
When the mouse and Chef showed up
They had a gig and a busted motor
I told them, you’re in luck
My uncle Jed’s a mechanic
I’m Jasper, shake my paw
Chuck E.: I said, we could use a bass guitarist
Why don’t you come along
Our band was growing and things were good
Still I felt we were incomplete
I remembered this singing gamer chick
That didn’t miss a beat
Helen Henny: Chuck asked me to join with him
I didn’t know what to say
The most fun mouse I’ve ever seen
I sang out a big hooray!
Chuck E.: Back in New York with our new friends
We took the stage to sing
We all did great yet we all knew
Still something was missing
Then this purple monster, alien thing
With a keyboard still eating his lunch
Jumped on the stage and started playing too, and said
Mr. Munch: Hi! I’m Mr. Munch!
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Can have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
Chuck E.: We were having so much fun
Making memories every day
We even expanded to more locations
The first in San Jose!
Now I’ve been thinkin’ lately
About all the things we did
And we’ll still be here years from now
Where a kid can be a kid!
All: Every boy, every girl
Every kid around the world
Can have a place to laugh and sing and play
Kids can do what they please
When they come to Chuck E. Cheese
They'll be rockin' here tomorrow
Like they're rockin' here today
They’ll be rockin’ here tomorrow
Like they’re rockin’ here today
We’ll be rockin’ here tomorrow
Like we’re rockin’ here today
Trivia[]
- This is currently the longest song in any Chuck E. Cheese media.
- Steve Waters, as well as additional Pizza Time Theatre characters can be seen in the 2017 version.
- The 2017 version opts for the lyric "years from now" instead of following the pattern of the previous recordings and stating an actual year.
- While the 1997 and 2007 versions use a pop rock sound, the 2017 version is slower and more ballad like.
- In flashbacks during the 2017 version, Helen oddly wears her Tux attire unlike the rest of the band, who are in their Pizza Time Theatre attire.
- The illustrations that are shown in the 2017 version were done by artist Cedric Hohnstadt.[1]
- The 2017 version of the song partially reuses footage from "This Is How We Do It".
