Dancin' on the Moon is an original song first introduced as part of the Rock It Into Space showtape. It was later re-recorded as part of the Dance Party showtape.
The song has Jasper sing lead in most versions; however, Chuck E. sings lead in the Studio C version of the latter aformentioned showtape.
Lyrics[]
Let me tell you what happened to me last night! It was really wild! C'mon, everybody, get up and move!
I walked into my room last night
And sat down on the bed
I looked at all the books on space
That I already read
When I looked into the corner
Much to my surprise
Appeared to me a space alien
Right before my eyes
The little guy said, "Don't be scared"
Then he made a funny face
Then he started singin' and dancin', y'all
All around the place
This is what he sang...
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
He said he lives so far away
In a distant galaxy
Then he pulled out a photograph
Of his family
He told me that where he was from,
They really liked to dance
Well, I'm visitin' all the planets, y'all
Whenever they get the chance
Then he said he had to leave
And he'll be back real soon
Then he started singin' and dancin', y'all
To his favorite tune
Went somethin' like this...
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Hey, you wanna know how they dance on the moon? (YEAH!) Well, are you ready?! (YEAH!!) I said, are you ready?!! (YEAH!!!) Tell me now, ARE YOU READY??!! (YEAH!!!!)
Put your two front feet to the left
And your two back feet to the ri-i-ight
Then you grab your partner with all four arms
And dance all through the ni-i-i-ight
Dancin' on the moon (Dancin' on the moon)
Dancin' on the moon (Moon)
Oh, yeah!
