The Chuck E. Cheese Wiki (also known as the Chuck E. Cheese Fandom Wiki, or the CEC Wiki for short) is a collaborative wiki that is hosted on Fandom (formerly Wikia). The wiki was founded on July 11th, 2012 by SpongeBobFreak101, and is currently headed by ChuckECheeseFan2007 via adoption. This page will go over the history of the wiki. As you read, please be noted that most users named in this article are no longer active, so please don't message or try to get in contact with any of the mentioned users on this page. Some of the images listed here are for wiki navigation/template usages only, so please do not use any of the images on main space outside of the templates.

History

Creation and Slow Rise (2012-2016)

Not a lot of information is available about this period of the wiki (due to how small the wiki was at the time), though on July 11th, 2012 (ironically shortly after the "Rockstar" rebrand was announced by CEC Entertainment), the wiki was founded by a user who went by the name SpongeBobFreak101. During this time, articles (mainly revolving around characters, songs, and even the menu used at Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants) were added. Even social media for the wiki was created, though these accounts would go inactive shortly after their creation.

After 2012, the wiki would lay dormant, minus a few minor edits (alongside pages created for voice actors/actors during 2014). That was until 2016, when interest and activity in the wiki was revived.

Revival in Wiki Interest (2016-2020)

Between 2016 and 2020 interest in the wiki rose. This era was mostly creation in smaller areas of the community like CEC TV. SpongeBobFreak101 retired in 2012, and in 2016 a new owner took over. NewJerseyRat had a short run as the wiki owner from October - December 2016. An admin by the name of LunaMouse23 also started around this time. They helped the Wiki a lot during this time as the sorta-owner. Their biggest addition was the About Us & Site Rules page. A large community would soon form after.

Community Era (2020-2024)

The Community Era was the third period in CEC Wiki's history. This era didn't really change the look of the wiki very much. However, it did add a lot of smaller content. This era also saw a rise in a general community in the CEC wiki. In 2022 Chuckecheesefan238 became the new wiki owner. He added a lot of content to the wiki and helped moderate the wiki. WhoDidWhat16, aka CECBowlingGreen, took over as the second admin, replacing LunaMouse23, who retired in 2021. This era would lead into a new CEC era that would finally bring change.

Wiki Adoption and Growth (2024-Present)

The Chuck E. Cheese Wiki was adopted on January 7th, 2024 by the new wiki owner ChuckECheeseFan2007, and is still going to this day. Massive changes like new logos and wiki colors updated the Chuck E. Cheese Wiki's design to bring it into the 2020s. Along with that tons of new content was added to the wiki! On June 17, 2024 the Chuck E. Cheese Wiki received A+ Wiki status, officially becoming the 110th A+ Wiki on Fandom. On August 11, 2024 the Chuck E. Cheese Wiki made it to 1,400 pages, almost double the total amount of pages in 2023. On September 13, 2024 the Chuck E. Cheese Wiki receive a brand new home page, which now uses templates instead of galleries.

Alongside the main wiki, on July 22nd, 2024, the Chuck E. Cheese Fanon Wiki would be adopted by ChuckECheeseFan2007, officially affiliating the two wikis.
