Bowling Green, KY (2625 Scottsville Rd #300), Store #567 is a Chuck E. Cheese that opened on April 27, 2004 with a Small-Town Studio C, and is still open today with the 2.0 remodel. This location is located in the Greenwood Mall.
History[]
Pre-CEC (1979-2004)[]
In September 1979, a new mall in Bowling Green, Kentucky opened, called the Greenwood Mall. In April 1984, a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre would open across the street from the mall at 2530 Scottsville Road at the Old Hickory Building, that lasted until around Spring 1986 when they would close and an auction would take place on May 17, 1986. For the next 20 years, CEC would not have a presence in the City of Bowling Green. It is currently not known what business previously occupied the space of the current Bowling Green CEC in the mall.
Chuck E. Cheese's [April 27, 2004 - July 2022][]
In February 2004, the Bowling Green Daily News reported that new stores would be coming to the mall, including Old Navy, Yankee Candle, and Chuck E. Cheese's.[1] On April 27, 2004, the Chuck E. Cheese's at Greenwood Mall opened, located next to JCPenney. Bowling Green opened as one of several "Small Town CEC" stores, which were locations meant for smaller markets (the City of Bowling Green had a estimated population of 49, 296 during the 2000 US Census) and they were commonly placed in malls and shopping centers. They would open with the 1990s Major Remodel, and would have Chuck E.'s Clubhouse (condensed version of SkyTubes for Small Town stores) until late 2015 or early 2016. Bowling Green would remain unremodeled until June 2022, when they began their 2.0 Remodel
Chuck E. Cheese [July 2022-Present][]
In late June 2022, the Chuck E. Cheese's of Bowling Green began their 2.0 Remodel, becoming the 4th location in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to receive it (after Paducah in Fall 2018, Lexington in 2019, and Florence in March/April 2022). By July 17th, the stage would be removed and the Dance Floor would be installed, eventually the Video Wall would be installed, and the remodel would be completed some time in the summer. In late August 2024, Bowling Green received the Trampoline Zone alongside the other locations in Kentucky.
Stages[]
Originally opening with a Small-Town Studio C, Bowling Green's stage would remain unchanged (as far as documentation goes) until the early 2010s, when they would receive the Avenger shirt, but retain the Cool Chuck shorts, and possibly kept the Cool Chuck hat. Around 2013, they would remove the hat to look more like the then-new Rockstar design of Chuck E. Cheese. Around 2017 or 2018, they would replace the Cool Chuck shorts with the Rockstar jeans, but keep the Avenger shirt, although they would sometimes switch it with the Rockstar shirt until the stage's removal for 2.0.
