Arcade games are a staple of every Chuck E. Cheese location. They come in many different forms. Arcade games are the only way for guests to win tickets and redeem prizes from the prize counter. Chuck E. Cheese used to use physical tokens and tickets for their arcade games, but tokens were phased out in 2017, along with tickets later in 2020. Guests now use a card called a Play Pass to play games and redeem E-tickets. Since 2016-17, token action games give a certain number of tokens when guests tap their Play Pass.

History[]

In the early days of Chuck E. Cheese almost all of the arcade games consisted of Atari games. This is of course because the founder of Chuck E. Cheese, Nolan Bushnell, was also the co-founder of Atari. Later on, Chuck E. Cheese would go on to use regular arcade games produced by separate companies like ICE Games and simply rebrand them to Chuck E. themed games. In January 2009, chuck e cheese began to phase out many games that had “Mild” or “Strong” by the AAMA, including many racers from Sega, Konami and Namco.
